Second shim on the R53 and 15% with a cold plug? What do you guys think? I don't want to carry 5% and 15%.

Okie dokie ... let's see how she tachs on a 10x6 and a 8.8 x 8.75. Last I got were 15,500 and 17,600 respectively on Byron 5%.

What would you all use on a sport plane with this engine? On something like the GP Viper 500 the 8.8 x 8.75 would be fine but has anyone used something like a 9x8 on a plane like a Kelly or the Revolver? Would a 9" prop be slightly too small for a 6 lbs plane?

i went to my local field and asked, i was told it was either a 40 or 45. this was told to me by someone with racing experience. he likes rossi and REALLY wanted me to sell it to him. i said that i have a home for it in the works on my bench.
sorry for the fuzziness my wife is out with the good camera, so i just used my phone for pics

I tried a 9x8 on my F20 with the rossi 53..........Slow to get off the ground and sluggish in the turns, not very fast on the straightaways[:'(]

I put a 10x7 on it and it went much better. Save the 9" props for your viper

Creamation - Looks like a Rossi 45 to me. The .40's of the same era had plain aluminum heads.
