Default tuned pipe question

For the shear hell of it, Do you think two smaller pipes couldbe used instead of one.
The custom header spitting into two.
Would this work?

I think:

1. It would probably work to some degree
2. It would likely suffer from a relative lack of efficiency, extra weight, cost, complexity (the last three are obvious, I know)
3. It has no practical purpose other than to make something look cool, which in itself is okay if that turns your crank

Maybe a header that splits into 6 exhaust outlets, each into one of 6 tuned pipes all tuned to different rpm ranges.. the no moving part supercharger!

Ha...

each pipe to cover the rpm range, like it!!!

The cool factor yes. The weight, i duno, could two pipes equal 1?

Would the sound be any better?

I've often thought if the signature tune of the engine is influenced by the pipe and what additions could be added to create further deeper basser resonance..!! even an airwhistle or something to manipulate the audable sound frequencies for maximum sound blasting....!!!

I want an engine like this.....!!!

If you played with a pair of .15 pipes on a .35, you might find something of interest?
