Default HP Gold Cup .40

Just playing on Sun. with this engine, want to use it in a Sig kobra someday, It has a .25 size case also so it would fit right in. Anybody know about or played with this engine before, it runs nice, good transition, with 9-7 APC, standard muffler, was getting about 14 300 or so, probably run nice with a full pipe.

If it's small and light, you should be able to take advantage of that with a small plane / 8 inch prop combo. I've seen a few Sig Kobra and Kougars, but so far none that turned out particularly fast. I don't see why they can't be made to go. If the builder has experience building Q-500s and knows what works, what doesn't work and knows how to keep the weight down, it should be a good looking speed plane.

hp .40 motors are well built, but dont have alot of exhaust timing, but will perk up with a pipe, their heyday usage was as rat racer engines, seldom blew..good starting too. i would put new modern bearings in it if you are going to turn it up rpm wise
