Default Screamin Demon cowl take 3

Might have got it right this time. It fits the West .50 nicely. Haven't tackled the carb opening yet.. egads. That's probably when I'll wish I had designed in some carb features, but can't make it fit everything yoiu know, grumble grumble..

MJD

p.s. oh yeah - again, the black is just Sharpie marker. I haven't finalized the glass cutting templates yet so Sharpie lines rock.

p.p.s. yes, I pulled it a little green and there is a small filler pull in the top left edge of the cylinder jacket. Nothing a dab of epoxy putty won't fix this evening. It's not a mold feature is what I'm saying, more an operator issue..

p.p.p.s. yes I know it's a lekkie spinner. It's 2" also and I wouldn't want to scratch a nice aluminum IC engine spinner during fit checks.

I dressed it up like the one up at the museum that I get to steer around now and again..

p.s. the pilot in this picture is the guy who hand launches the Demon in my Youtube test flight video. Just a little useless trivia.

Looks real good! That should be a real popular option for the kit.

I'd charge a fair amount.....glass work isn't much fun, nor is developing the molds, keeping the raw materials in stock and not shelf dated, etc.

Having a ARF cowl available should make this kit a "no-brainer" for guys looking for speed and coolness factor. It makes the plane look that much more evil and sinister, too.....[8D]

Now you gotta come up with a decal sheet. If you spoke with the engine and other equipment manufacturers, I wonder if they would furnish you with decals to include in the kits? I think that would also be a nice touch for the kit and free advertising for the equipment manufacturers.

I wondered about glassing the Moth then gasolining out the foam, then.. nah forget it.

Yessir Bob, looks are everything.. the airplane is already fast. Now it looks kinda like a spaceship.

Thanks. The screws don't look as bad as they appear here. They must be fast, they're aircraft grade truss head screws. I got tired of looking for decent hatch screws and decided I could handle the outrageous figure of 6 bucks for 100ea #4 and #6 truss head screws. Now I can install 50 hatches.
