brief heads up on new engine
Just for those keeping score.......
The 60LX is being phased out.
Dub has a new engine, which will be a .56 - borrows from the long-rod racing engine design.
So far, runs like a champ, and avoids the headaches some found with the 60LX.
More when we get more run time

Does this include both the side exhaust and the rear exhaust 60LX's? When do you think we can expect the .56 to come out? Will they be about the same price? I was thinking about ordering a 60LX, but might wait if the .56 is going to be out soon. What kinds of headaches were people having with the 60?

Dub will not sell you a 60LX at this time. He will tell you to wait a month or so for the new engine.
The 60LX, in general, ran great. But they were sometimes critical on setup and heat transfer (cooling), and really liked to unload (light prop, speed) - the side exhaust in particular gave people the most issues. Was demonstrated to perform great about 80% of the time. However, was not user friendly enough for about 20% of the modelers who own them, and that was not good enough for Jett. A few too many "ARF" minded folks who demand plug-and-play were getting in the pipeline.... and this engine is not for those type of people.
Over time, some design refinements to the 60LX head, muffler, porting were tried. Each seemed to work as intended. Then 3 months later...... someone else started blowing plugs, for a different reason on a different aircraft.
Performance so far, in limited bench testing, has been better than the 60L, and darn close to the 60LX. Dub even TRIED to blow the plug on the engine lean, hot ....... would not blow. So far, so good. But wont be ready for prime time until we get more data points.

That should not be a problem. Will be in open air, side mounted.
Bubble tank recommended... its a tough tank installation, and you need the fuel capacity too.
Just toss a 9x7 prop on it to start with. Set the engine about 800-1000 rpm down from peak for initial fights. Then work from there.
