patriot 40 plans - help
Hi all,
Since i was a little kid that just started flying RC planes (damn... 18 years goes by pretty fast), i was amazed by the patriot 40,
i remember going to the field with my 0.25 trainer and looked at the patriot scorching the skies... i then swore that one day i will have one of those.
time goes by, been building and flying all sort of things - 3D, pattern, giant scales, jets ... even design some of my own (mainly biplanes and VTOLS) but yet to fulfill this small dream of having one of those sky burning patriots.
please help a lost child in pursuit of his dream :-)
where can i get plans for the Patriot 40? i would truly be obliged if someone can make me a copy of the plans (will pay for the copy and shipping).
Thank you for your help
Raviv.

have you tried Great Planes?
i just acquired 2 Patriot kits.
if you can't get the plans from GP, i'll be happy to help you out.
i assume you need templates for the ribs though too.

it's a cr@p shoot on beebay and sometimes it hurts to pay the BIN price, but when i want something i don't see all the time i get over it quickly.
at this point i'd wait til the last few seconds on the auction and snipe it.
it's a funny place. recently i wanted a ST engine that was there, the only bid was at $50.00 and i could have sniped it but fell asleep................no other bids so some lucky guy got it for cheap. a week later another ST 25X went for over a hundred bucks and there were like 20 some bids on it.

well... what can you do, right?
you win some, you loose some.
the only problem i have is that the auction ends at 4:00am according to our time... and since my job is not bidding on beebay, i would probably be asleep.
i guess i have to find another way of putting my hands on one of those.

put your highest bid on it anyways if you can..........
hey if you don't win this one, i can still trace parts onto paper for you from one of my kits and then you can use contact to stick em to the wood to do a scratch build.
BTW, the canopy is still available on Towers site,

RE: patriot 40 plans - help
Hi phi, the F-20 is a very good plane but is it a speed demon like the Patriot (271KPH on a ROSSI... that is fast) i am asking because i dont really know the F-20.
He Gregor, i mailed the Australian seller, he replied that the shipping price will be too high.
as i see it, if one wants to pursuit one's dream, one needs to buckle up and scratch build it...

RE: patriot 40 plans - help
well , just purchased the Patriot kit that was on ebay.
i would like to thank all of you who replied here.
it is absolutely fantastic that there is a group of people like you who are willing to help.
Thank you summerwind for all your help.
as for the Patriot, i am planning on "improving" her a bit - mainly reducing drag by adding fillets between the fuselage and the wing,
adding small winglets to the wingtips to reduce vortex thus reducing drag.
strenghten the main spars by UD carbon fibers,
microglassing it with the lightest fabric avaliable (25gr/m).
it is going to be a fun little project.
