What prop need help?
I purchased a hobby people quick-1 for 24 bucks and put a 5000kv DF motor in it running a 3 cell lipo. I did have a 5.7 by 3 prop and tested the amp draw and its not going over 15 amps so it is working out fine. What prop would be best on it carbon fiber or apc?

I am running a 4.5x4.5 APC on a 4800 Kv DF and a 3 cell and am over amping the heck out of it. If I push it to far the motor just shuts down. If I hit that sweat spot though... This lil booger scoots!

No gears direct drive. The 5.7*3 pushes the max amps on the motor. Im using a 60 amps esc with a 5000kv motor used for 55mm ducted fans. Max amps on the motor are 22 amps, At full throttle I use 20. This is on the prop above.

I dont get it either. At first I used a 25 amp ripmax esc, tested amp draw and got 15 amps. Then I tryed the 60 amp Esc and the amp draw went up to 20. Can the timing or something effect the amp draw? The motor does not have timing adjustment but what about the ESC

What motor are you using? The resistance of the motor has a huge impact on amp draw. Depending on motor resistance, my calculators show 70 to 120 amps with rpms at 30,000 to 50,000. Many would consider 3S and 5000kv not a match with a prop. Have you tached it? Many ESC do have timing adjustments but I would not think it would cause a large difference in amp draw.

The actual resistance of the ESC also comes into play as well as the timing. Some ESC's can vary the timing from 1* to 30* the lower setting being the most efficient and used for lower RPM's and lower current higher efficiencies. The 30 degree setting is use for outrunner motors turning higher rpms and will also draw the most current. Typically the default for many ESC's is the lower timing setting.
These are not the only things that come into play either, wire length, gauge. as well as the resistance of the motor, all are factors in how much current you draw.
While the size, pitch, # of blades of your prop plays the major role all of the other things play a part as well.

It sounds like your setup is drawing too many amps for the battery. What battery are you using? I think your battery is keeping the amps low, is it blazing hot after 30 seconds WOT?
That setup should be way over 20 amps, I'm thinking minimum in the 50 amp region.
I think you should be no more than 3200 kv on 3S. 5000kv should be spinning a 4" prop max.
I had that plane with a 2200kv 3S on a 6x5.5 APC with the quick one. Flew really well. WAYYY too fragile.
