Launching deltas with rear exhaust engines is a special treat - as you push it away the exhaust aims right at your face. Loads of fun for the pilot, not so much for the happy helper.. Esp. with lots of nitro to add spice to the mix.

The problem is most people launch right handed, and the exhaust is on the right. How are you supposed to aim the exhaust at their heads like that? Even a silicone exhuast diverter won't get up and over the fuse and in his face. Needs rear exhaust and a diverter facing 45 left and down about 5 degrees. Someone should speak to the engine manufacturers about this.

I launch my little SD delta rear exhaust myself ,usually because I'm the only one at the field when I go, and by the time I get my hand back on the stick, my left arm and hand is a dribbling mess like I just helped a calf out of the birth canal of her mother bare handed back on the farm.[:'(]

Though I've never heard of a human birth being assisted by rope and a block-and-tackle... at least not a successful one. [:'(]

From what I've read and seen first hand, most are lost from being too nose heavy and launching poorly. Do some searching in here and you will notice the CG needs to be a bit more rearward from what the instructions say.
