RE: Looking for a TF Holy Smoke Manual
This smoke is getting twin fins to make room for the pipe coming from the YS 45 rear exaust. I might build this on with the landing gear not sure yet

RE: Looking for a TF Holy Smoke Manual
Well the build is going great. One quick question, I am going with two vertical stabs to allow room for the rear exhaust engine. The plans call for the stab to be made from 1/4" How thin can I go also should I make both stabs the same as the single stab? Or can a reduce the size a bit?

You can airfoil the 1/4" balsa fins. It will fool the air into thinking that the fins are real thin. I think a pair of 7" x 5" fins are enough for this size plane. Notice how a Diamond Dust has the fins overhang the trailing edge. Mount the fins with tri-stock at the base and see to it that they don't flex easily....that they are stout.

RE: Looking for a TF Holy Smoke Manual
Leave it to CP to give a perfect answer your the best! Maybe someday Fly Swater will finish that greased pig he has been talking about. Is that 7" tall or 7" long? Also I plan on butting the stab to the the ribs. Rib spacing is about 4" How far should I space the stabs. I was thinking that 3/16 would be okay instead of 1/4 to save some weight. I kinda have a heavy but powerfull engine up front. This is my second Holy Smoke first was built stock with a tt 46 What a great flying plane. Not real fast but ULTRA STABLE!! I am sure you have built many smokes
