ahhh, a Jett 56LX spinning a 9x8 at 18,400 (too start) will be the order..............i see a fast combo here

hope the wing isn't held on with rubber bands
Man I step out for a minute and a new prop-jet arrives?

Rubber-bands? That is classic and COMEDY GOLD!

Hope everyone is well-

I am looking forward to hearing the various reports/comments on how the 60 NX performs. It may not be worth it (to me) to pay a lot more $$$$, for just a little more increase in speed/performance from the Jett. Bob

glowplugboy i really hope you get that 90 to perform well in the jackal. you are adding weight to an already heavy plane. might be faster in a dive but on the level i dont see it any faster than a 56 powered one if not a bit slower. i have a 60 lx and the 56 is about 200-300 rpm stronger. the new 56 is a real beast of an engine......

i shoehorn bigger engines in planes all the time. i have a 120AX in my 46 size revolver. i just think the 90 lX isnt the right engine to get this plane past 120 mph. Now a 77-105 DF engine would be good.....

I certainly appreciate what you are saying regarding the 90 LX, but it's what I have, and, interestingly, it is the same dimensionally as any .61, only "taller". Interesting that you mention the .40 size Revolver, that is the airframe I had the 90 LX on prior to the Jackal. The big tuned muffler will also add some weight. As for a prop, I'm thinking a 10 X 10 to make up for the lack of ground clearance. We shall see!

glowplug boy the Jett 56, 60 and evo 60NX are small case engines there are about 16 ounces in weight. the 90 LX is more in size and wieght. it will need more fuel to fly any lenght of time, more weight moved to the rear of the plane.

anyway if thats all you have and dont want to buy another engine then you have to do what you have to do. I would put a modded 55 with jet muffler.

Hmmm, I do have a Magnum .52 which would run great with a tuned muffler, and it is strong too.

Hey Guys;

The UPS man just left the retract set for the Jackal at my door!!! Went back into my workshop to look at the set and was shock to see there was no axles, set screws, and adapters.
( see picture below ).
Now to find a set of axles and adapter to fit the Hangar 9 HAN502 PRS Tri - Gear Pneumatic. Oh well, back to the build!! Just want to give anyone who order this set from Horizon a heads up. Back to the man cave!!!!

All of the Robart retracts we have specifically made to fit our H9 airframes include wheel axles.

Sonny if you contact PS today or Monday and tell them to send you one of each of the following Robart items. I am sure this is an isolated case, but we will check stock next week.

Just picked up my Jackal, looks good so far will go thru the kit later to make sure I have all the parts. I was reading in the assembly manual STEP 24 said to use covering or clear tape to cover the gap between elevator and stabilizer and the other control surfaces.
Did anyone do this step if so what did you use? What battery pack did you use?

Thank you

Man that rudder control horn was a tricky lil thing..... I'm a dealer for Fromeco so I used a liOn 2600 7.4v 2c with a badger switch and a Jr reg. To step the volts down to 6. Probably not the best choice an surely not the cheapest or
Lightest but then again it's what I had on the shelf......

I am going with clear tape on all the gaps. As for battery I will be using a HydriMax Ultra 2000 mAh 6 vots nimh pack.

The Evo 60 is a good engine. Definately to be considered. The blue muffler wakes it up quite nicely.
