Default Lanier PREDITOR 500 ARF V-Tail

I'm in the last stages of finishing the Pedator 500. Two questions. V-Tail, (I never had a plane with V-tail) is that just used for elavator, it has 2 servos for V-tail, or do you put rudder in it also by radio. JR 8103, use glider and then v-tail. I think I could also mix ailerons with rudder.

Second, with this plane hold up with a Jett Fire 50?

Thanks, Dave

Dave,

The v-tail is for elevator and rudder, with one servo on each surface. The rudder is effective and needed for takeoffs, and helps with landings. I have not coupled rudder and ailerons on my Predators, and I am not sure its needed or anything gained. Set your 8103 in glider mode as you say. I think the throttle is on the spoileron channel, and it works the same with the trim below half.

I flew my Predator with a Jett 50 and it held up fine. Based on the wing folding stories, and wing construction, I would not recommend any turn #1 full pulls with the Jett.

See the q500 forum for the recommended Predator mods, especially pinning the wing hold downs and firewall, check the tail with an incidence meter, and trash the kit's wheels.
