My first Dust is done

Thanks for all who've guided me in the building and engine/CG/etc questions I had along the way. It came out great. Just need to bolt up the engine and program the radio. I hope to fly it this weekend. Green is apple green ultracote trimmed with neon red (looks pink) monokote with black monokote underneath it.

Beautiful job..!

I gotta say though....the linkage geometry look like you're trying for a 3D model.

Thanks guys.
Freakinfast,
The engine is an older Sport Jett 46 I picked up used here on RCU.

Combatpigg,
The final linkage geometry isn't yet determined. As it sits it's a 1:1 ratio, but will probably end up being closer to 1:1.5 or so to maximize servo resolution. It'd be nice if I had some smaller JR arms so for now I'll just be using the inner holes on the servo arm. The servos are JR8411 metal gears. I love these servos but they seem to chew through gearsets pretty quickly and develop slop. I just installed a new gearset so I should be good for a while.

There are those who will not use MG servos on these types of aircraft for that very issue. But as you said, with new gears you'll be fine for a while.

Now you got me thinking about it. I have some 90 inch-oz. digital carbonite geared servos. Would that be adequate? If so, I can always use these 8411's on another plane.

I fly Jett .50 and West .50 powered Demons on HS-225's. No problems "yet". AFAIK 90 oz-in digitals are plenty, but I've never owned a DD.

I also use HS225BB servos on my Screamin' Demons, with no issues.
