K&B 7.5 ducted fan engine

Would this engine work well with a prop? Could it be made to fit in a Patriot?

Thanks
Mitch

Yes- I had run a Rev-Up wood 9x7 and a 8x10 Pylon prop. on mine..... Is yours F.I.R.E.? Many folks use this engine on deltas like the Whip or DD-

You could probably run it on a Patriot with some mods. but I would stick with an engine that can pull at least a 9x8 since the Patriot weighs 6-7 lbs. (Jett-50)

this engine runs awsome with a 7x7.5 carbon prop.
really hauls the mail

This is sound advice!
That K&B will not pull a 9x8 or a 9x7... and a plane like tha Patriot needs that!
Shok is right... the engine will probably SCREAM on a 7x7.5 (it should)... but that's an FAI pylon prop, not a Patriot prop!
So you need an engine that peaks at a lower rpm band than a DF engine...

Get a Jett .50... and an APC 9x7/9x8 prop... and a pipe... and go for 18,000...

OK... I'm convinced. Right now it's a toss up between the Jett 50 or the YS 45.

Or an engine that will turn the 9X8 in the DF power band...

OK :D You're right...
Now where's that .50 that turns a 9x8 at 24K...?
Don't get me wrong... I'd LOVE to get me one of those... :D:D:D

The Jett-50 and YS-45 are my 2 favorite choices and I have both ;) You will need to run a full-pi YS-

1. Jett-50 (I preferred the APC 9x9 on my Patriot)
2. YS-45 Macs 7.5CC (10x7)
3. West-50?

Any Idea where I can find a K&B 6.5 or 7.5 DF engine? I am building an ancient Ziroli/Midwest He-162 from 1977. It calls for a Midwest RK-40 with a KB .40 engine.

I found the RK-40 on E-bay.

I will trade you a YS-45 (no pipe) and an Irvine-46 for the west?
