Retracts Experts... need your brain

Ok so im still looking into doing retracts on my magnum that i've been rebuilding..... most retracts are 1" in depth, and i'm wondering if anyone knows of any that are less.... i've been thinking about ordering the robart mechanicals for 2lb models, and running a bigger nose gear to hold the weight of the engine up front... i think this may work but i need some more input if anyone has some....... what about pneumatics, any small ones? i'm gonna make this work!

the .10 size retracts might work. also the small retracts that robart makes might do it... i was thinking using .40 nose gear to hold the weight of the engine, and then those small ones for the rear. i think it can be done, but i decided i don't want do go through the mess to do it. So i'll build an F-20 w/retracts later

the robart 600 series for 2-5 lb aircraft are 3/4 tall Magnum wing is too thin
the 1/2A series is 23/32" at its peak point not much gained here

have you looked at park flyer gear? then scale them up to support the weight of a Magnum?

ok nose gear retract to support most of the weight.

for the wing try this idea..... fixed gear!

fixed gear at the wing tips in wheel pants ...
Like the Quickie ~ Q2 ~ Dragonfly homebuilt aircraft !
The carnard had anhedril and the mains at the tips!
the wheel pant may have worked a little like the winglets on some new jets
