great planes learjet what engine?

hello guys, I just finished a greatplanes learjet, now I need to pick an engine, and here's the thing the plane needs to be fast!!! I mean nasty fast!! any suggestions? Is it a fast airplane or is it just a big lie?....

Jett 50 with tuned pipe....end of story..

A big airplane and a lot of drag, especially with the dummy engines...
Put a Jett .90 on it if you want any speed out of it, but even then, I doubt it would go much more than 110 to 120?

1) Jett 60LX --- 9x8 prop, or a 10x6 for the first flights (use the stock jett-stream muffler, not a long pipe).

2) Jett SJ-50 (same props)

3) econo-speed setup - Thunder Tiger .46 pro, add jett muffler, 9x7 prop.

If you want fast, you must have retracts in the plane, and take the time to ensure it is light.

As noted, the plane is draggy ... not much you can do about that beyond gettign the gear up. And even so, its not going to be extremely fast.

The Jett 90LX with a 10x10 on the shaft would be nice, but it would be a weight/balance nightmare...

Yup... I think anything more than the recommended .46 class engine will be tough to balance... Retracts will help with cleaning up the plane in the air. Also, I would be careful with putting too much stress on the elevator. The T tail config might be more prone to flutter too... Bobs power suggestions look about right. Im a big fan of the TT .46.

good luck!

Ive watched the GP Learjet fly with the Jett 50 and it took off well and landed great as well...400 ft asphalt runway in Virginia...

Ah...right...I forgot about the looonnng nose and potential balance issues with a .90 :)

I have one that is all framed up...a friend gave it to me when he moved. He had one previous to this one with a Jett .50 and said it was fast, but he left the fake engine's vacuum formed fan blades, etc. off so the air would flow right through the dummy engine tubes.

I've seen a few of these. Almost got one once. I would put a 90 in it.
