Jett 61LX

I remember that Bob posted a couple of pictures of the 61LX and 91LX in one of the threads and I just can't seem to find them. If I remember correctly, There were in an advertisement format. I want to print the one for the 61LX. I must be a future owner of one of these fine pieces of contained terror. I can't find them on Jett's website either.

Does anyone know where these were posted? Maybe they could be posted again?

Try this [link=http://www.jettengineering.com/]Jett Engineering[/link], then go to Signature BSE Engines.

Thanks, but not what I was looking for. Been there. No picture. I remember what looked like a single page ad that would be formatted for a magazine. I know it's in one of the threads but haven't been able to find it.

It is probably because Canada is so far away from Houston Tx :D It works fine for me. I would clear your internet temp files, reboot the computer and try again.

Vasek.....

are you running Fire Fox as the web browser ??

Most likely.

For some reason, that does not seem to like my 12 year old home page "frames" code. Im in the process of re-working the web site to make it firefox friendly

I took a look at the numbers on this 61lx. 18,000 on a 10/6. Unless I am missing something here, this tells me this engine could perform as good or better than the 90L and you tell me that it is a more like a monster 46? What casing size is this? 50? Still trying to come up with a plan here.

The ad says 40 and I remember Bob confirming it.

I remember it somewhere but the way these Jetts sustain their rpm and power, That has to be a heck of an engine

isn't there a saying about technology that goes someting like this: it works fine when you don't WANT it to work .... [:'(]

just a thought, my car is run by a computer.... $@!!#&**!!@$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!

Mozzilla, FireFox and Netscape are basically the same animal.......

I guess now that I have my computer at home running again I can get the updates finished.

(frigging spyware/adware stuff I got, somehow, about two weeks ago was impossible to remove. Took over firefox and IE6 browsers. I had to restore the system - took the opportunity to install a new hard drive anyway)

Yes, the 60LX is a "40" size engine. Same case as the .46 and .50 and regular 60L. Not quite the power of the 90L (there is power in displacement), that engine turns heavy 11 and 12" diameter props - but it does outperform just about any other 40-50 size engine out there on a 10x6 and similar

RE: Jett 61LX

There is just something about this that bugs me (but in a positive way). The Gray Cermark F20 /Jett 90 that I stuffed a couple years back that you still show is the same size as this Phoenix. My only guess as to why they rate this a 40 is that the front end is so nice an long, that anything larger would be difficult to install.

This is why I consider the plane a 60-90 size. I don't know what the gross weight of the Phoenix will be but I can tell it will be lighter than the Cermark. So we have a 40 size engine performing better than the Jett 50. Those numbers on the 60lx are impressive. Now guys , give me your best shot here,

It seems to me that if we took identical planes and install the 60 lx in one and the 90l (which I have) in another, that it would be a heck of a race--ya think?

Just trying to decide whether to modify the front end for a 90 size or leave it for that 60LX.

RE: Jett 61LX

I believe that the 90 would probably be better, my JETT FIRE 60LX with pipe needs a small diameter propeller to get the the rpm to make horse power. Mine is installed on a Diamond Dust, turns 19,600 rpm with an APC 8.8x9 propeller on 15% Omega, the plane is fast and fun to fly. If you think that this combination would work it might be an interesting experiment.

RE: Jett 61LX

Considering two things.......

1) you have a Jett 90 on hand to play with

2) you fly at an altitude where many birds can't

Put the 90 in it first.

Easy enough to do. Any if you feel adventurous, then buy a 60LX to put in your smaller F-20 :)

Hi all,
Is the SS pipe for the 60LX in the pictures I see on the web page the same pipe that I would buy with the motor or a higher end one to purchase extra?
Ready to buy now.
This motor combo will go in a Phoenix F20 cut down 4" wing tips with retacts.
The plane fly's well on a ST 46 and Nelson pipe and in gear down mode,
Got to GO faster.
Please all......
PS must be side exuast....
Thanx.

Yes, the SS jett-stream muffler is standard equipment on the 60LX engine. It is an optional/upgrade on the other engines.

A trimmed and retracted F-20 ..... sounds like fun :)

the descriptions say "'.40' size" and "'.60' size" - as in physical size, compaired to traditional engine sizes. the "40" size same mounting and appx dims of a current OS.46 - the "60" size same mounting and appx size as an OS61/91fx.

Displacement is 10cc and 15cc - more complete dimensions here

I'm getting screwed up here, this is a 61lx with outsanding numbers and this is a pumped up 40? Is this in a 40, 50 , 60 size casing. Why is an engine in a 60 size case being compared to a 40? I feel like i am in an Abbot and Costello bit here. Just seems that this is better than the reg Jett 60 but is it 60 power in a 40 size case?

OK Abbot, listen up. the 60LX is a 40 sized engine bored and/or stroked to a 60 displacement. Does that make sense? :)

So this engine is really geard for the smaller ones like the DD and Q500 stuff to get the best performance?
