JunoRC F/A-18 Receiver Battery Question

I am building a JunoRC F/A-18. It is going to have an 8ch receiver with 2 switches and a 4 servo wing. I am wondering what size of battery to put in this plane. I am thinking I will run a 6volt system but do not know how many mAh to run and also NiMH or NiCd. I was considering a 6volt 1400-1600mAh NiMH. Is this to much? What do you suggest?

RE: JunoRC F/A-18 Receiver Battery Question

I really like the 6V 1650 MAH NIMH packs I got from Tower. Hydramax or something was the name, you'll see them...

Just monitor the voltage every flight or two until you know how long you can go without a charge.

I also have a couple 6V 2100 packs but they are big and heavy...

RE: JunoRC F/A-18 Receiver Battery Question

i use a 2400 mah nicd in mine. i have 9 servos an try to run around 300 mah per sevo. its a big pak but places in the rear of fuse it makes for a perfect balance weight. i dont need to charge every flight but still keep it topped off anyway. tops off at 5.42 on my triton. can probably get 3-4 flights with alot left over.
