looks like a friend of mine is getting one. I will get his comments if he does not post.

I have a RCM plns built airframe I bought a 2 years ago, very light no gear but mounts are in it. Still waiting for me to complete it servo battery and engine.

Thanks guys , I know the company and have seen there attempt at RC prop warbirds and there UGLY !!!! , but this one seems to be cool looking , dont know about the quality , but not a bad price .
Not retract ready but I am sure it can be modified . keep me posted please if anyone starts an online build .

I saw it today in person at the AMA show. It looks pretty decent to me. They also had three other very unique ARF's. It is a forward thinking company.

Some magazine had plans for this SR-71 a few years back. My friend built one and used a MPS .61 for power. It wasn't very spectacular and very twitchy in flight. I'd give it a 4 out of a possible 10.

The fellow who made the video has responded that his plane is a scratchbuilt version built from RCM plans.

I bought the plans from RCM and decided to wait a while. The servo linkages in the rear looked a little hinky. I got too many other projects to finish before I dive into one like that.
I did scan the article if anyone wants it.
Also the model C4F has looked awsome! He doesn't know it yet but he is going to sell it to me one day.:)

I see no reason why the wings need to be so small relative to the rest of the plane, that would make the plane a better all around flyer and it would still look like a SR 71. I don't think the extra weight of retracts is feasible on this model [as is]. The plane might make a decent belly lander as long as that pointy front end doesn't catch a mole hill.

CP, you need to realize that big ol long nose chine is also a lifing body that throws the whole show around. The nose stalls way after the wing causing a squishy effect.

I've tried to fly the Flyboys SR71 with to crashes on takeoff. This plane has a OS 46 fx and seems to have plenty of power. It takes full up 50 degree elevator and a very fast takeoff speed to get off the ground. As soon as the elevator is lowered toward neutral the nose drops and plane plunges to the ground. It appears tobe nose heavy and I've moved the CG back about 0.5 cm but still hard to get the nose to stay up. Will try again with another move of about 1 cm CG move aft. This will put the CG at 21.5 cm or behind the main gear and will want to drop the tail if the nose is tiped up. Flyboys didn't respond to my questions about CG and flight performance.
