WHAT 3-BLADE PROP EQUALS 15X8 2-BLADE?
How does one convert from a known two-blade size to a three-blade? If I wish to change from a 15X8(Master Airscrew black) two blade, what 3-blade size would I use? Will there be a performance loss/gain going from two to three blades? I'm interested in maintaining better performance in the higher speed range. The aplication is a Bruce Tharpe Engineering Delta Vortex using an OS 91 FX.

A 15 x 5, 14 x 7 or 13 x 9 three blade prop would have a similar load factor according to the ThrustHP program. I have heard many say that the two blade is the best for performance but if you need ground clearance the three blade may help.

This has come up a zillion times, the overall consensus is the 3 and 4 bladed props do not bring out the performance as a 2 blade-but they do look good. |
