No Airfoil deltas

Hi i am new to these fast planes and i only have one question.

If i make a delta plane with no airfoil (flat) from 4m corex would it be faster from the same design but with a bit of airfoil.

both planes are powered with the same engine and prop.

thank you
michael

micboy,

A decent airfoil should be faster.

4mm correx is not sturdy enough to go really fast in my opinion... otoh if it fails in flight you haven't wasted a lot of $...

I bought a Arf of a Delta SPAD at the huntsville swap meet
yesterday and put an os fp15 this thing hauls but
its yellow with a black tail fin looks like a bumble bee coming at you,
i'd say its running about 60-70mph plenty fast for the size and 15fp.

I would try both designs and see what you like better. Try one flat and other with airfoil. You would be surprised on how much drag you save by keeping the servos inside of fuse, or wing.

low drag = more speed

the moment I am building the flat one with no airfoil from 4mil corex regarding the stiffness is ok because I have reinforced it
With two L channels of aluminum the total weight with the fuel tank empty is 1.5kg what do you think of the total weight?

BTW: I only have a OS46Fx standard muffler what do you think is the best prop for it. On this delta planes

Thank you,

APC 9 X 7

Topflight wooden Pylon 9 X 7

I had good results with both these props on my OS 46FX. I liked the wooden better because it had instant revs. Kind of acted like a light weight flywheel.

A light wooden prop IS a lightweight flywheel... that's why it acts like one... :D

I guess it is a flywheel....lol...

well anyways y'all know what I mean. :bananahea
