Check into the old Klett tail wheels. They are hard and narrow with decent looking wheels.

I don't know too much about this site, and I have some plans to try something on a scratch-build in the future. They do have some jet-type wheels, 2in being the smallest.

I've used the Dubro tailwheels, aluminum hubs with hard rubber tires. They hold up great. Had them on my F-4 DF and now have them on my Turbine Enforcer.

You are shooting for this sorta look ?

I think what he did here was use a Robart 605 strut, and just centered the axil on the strut - letting it extend out both sides..

The wheels - not sure what type. But they look like typical 2" wheels. I was considering something like this for my F-14 too, using a pair of old Tetra 2" wheels I had sitting around.
