What happened to the shrike and the Lanier Kits in general? Tower lists them as discontinued.

If I am not mistaken, Great Planes recently purchased Lanier and Tower was clearing out their stock.

If I had to guess, I'd say the Lanier name will show up again in a year or two on some new designs or revamped original Lanier designs, similar to what happened with Goldberg.

Oh boy, soon we'll see Lanier branded copies of other people's original designs. Can't wait!

yeah, they were sucked up along with goldberg into the great planes kingdom.

How will this hobby ever remain innovative and diversified? Think of the companys that once were, but eventually were aquired by GP:
top flite, andrews, bridi, goldberg, lanier, glowbee not an exhaustive list.

Yes, GP took products from each and does offer modernized versions of each. They are good products. But it is sometimes sad to see changes in the marketplace where long established brands simply serve as a label on a box.

And my guess is that these Shrike kits will all turn out to be ARFs at the end. This is a real shame as structural mods will no longer be possible, so that overpowering will no longer be possible either.

I am sorry to say that that have spoken to Lanier and the Shrike is no more. The best I got from Lanier was a plan for the 40 as a build version the current problem I have is I cannot obtain any details for all the ribs, but I am trying to solve this issue. If you need a copy of the plan I can help.
