Patriot rx placement...

Just curious, where has everyone routed the antenna for the rx in the patriot. Internal or external? There doesn't seem to be enough space to fully extend the antenna internally without doubling back on itself.

Thanks for any help

Well-

I used a Goldenrod (empty pushrod..) between the 2 servos and routed it out the back of the plane- I left some slack inside so it would not drag on the ground... It comes out the tail-cone a few inches and is hardly noticeable...

You building or flying one?

Love them Pats-

Just finished building a few weeks ago. Finally broke in the engine - OS46FX. I am finishing installing the radio and that is where I was figuring out the antenna placement. Hopefully it will stop raining long enough for me to get in the first flight.

Patriot rx placement...

Hey guys,

I have been flying my Patriot for the last 8 year and love the plane. I must say both of your birds look good. I originally ran the antenna inside the fuse with it looping back once, down one side and back on the other with only a little wick sticking out the top. I flew it that way for 7 years and then last year I started getting little glitches so I decided to run it up to the front and then out the top and all the way down the spine of the plane. I used a very small tie rap to hold it to the tail cone. The glitches went away and so I am happy. Now why it worked one way for 7 years and then decided to glitch I am not sure all I can think of is something shifted a little.
Here is a shot of it before I changed the routing.

Yeah just a few ... I stoped counting at 300. She started with an OS .46 and an ultratrust. Now I have a Jet .50. Full retracts and I have clocked her at 146 MPH fast for a patriot. Still looks the same as when I finished her sept for the engine. NO problems so far. Good luck with yours hope she last as long as mine.

Sa-weet! I need a Jett 50....

I have both the YS-45 and Rossi-45 but the Jett would be the bomb...

Take it easy,
james
