RE: o.s 120 ax for little toni?????

This is a good engine choice for this plane. I would suggest a 13x13 prop. From what I have read the 120 ax will turn somewhere around 10,000 rpm on the ground with a 13x13 on 15-20% fuel. This will get you to a pitch speed around 125+ in the air. Probably move pretty decent. You can also try a 14x12 or even 14x14 and see what kind of results you get. I have basically the same airplane Cosmic Wind Minnow and going to be experimenting between a 12x12, 13x13, and 14x14 on it however Im using an electric setup slightly more powerful than a 120ax.

for that engine and plane a 16x7 is the fastest prop on a stock muffler. we have onein our club that runs a gms 120 and the 15x7 was best on it. for this plane you need thrust. I believe the smaller higher pitch props are slower.

thanx!!!! i happy that this engine will fit to my little toni. now he will fly fast!!!!!!!!!
i have anthoer question did anybody knew this engine- mintor 140? http://www.znline.com/produits.php?lan gue=french&cle_menus=1064491610&cle_data =1064496207
will he fit to the little toni and the mintor 140 is more stronger from the o.s 120ax?????
thanx

Airraptor I agree this plane is on the draggy side with its wide body fusalage however 16x7 I can't see how this would be even remotely fast. I mean even a very tricked out 1.20 to 1.40 is lucky to make 3.5hp and that will only spin a 16x7 at about 10,000 maybe which is about 65mph-70mph pitch speed. From what I have read on other threads regarding the Toni the guys running 13x13 to 14x14 spinning about 10,000-10,500ish are clocking them at a solid 120+ level.

the mintor engine will be stronger and if you could get a 1.70 that would make it go. for the one the guy had at the club the fastest prop was the 15x7. the gms i think was turning close to 11,000 on the ground and sounded like it unload more in the air as it seemed to blow thru it. Thrust makes the plane go fast and need to over come the drag at that speed. I am not doubting z06 at all just putting what i thought. I know on my hanger 9 miss america with the OS 120 ax the fastest visual prop was the 15x8 xoar where the APC 15x8 seemed slower. i did put a pipe on it and it turned an APC 16x8 at 9,800-9,900. I need to shorten the pipe more for the 15x8. I will try some smaller higher pitch props but i dont think it will be faster. I would like to put a YS 170 or a Saito 220 on it. see if i could reach 135-140
