RE: BEST IN THE WEST JET RALLY!!!!!!!
Anyone heading up from LA area on Thursday morning? Say 10am-ish?
And leaving Sunday morning back towards LA? (flight leaves at 1:30)
Just need to find a ride from LAX to the event, got a place to crash on site, then need to find my way back to LAX.

RE: BEST IN THE WEST JET RALLY!!!!!!!
I want to make clear something that I have talked to Joe about but he has not posted on this site.
The Antelope Valley Tailwinds has the following field regulation. Consumption of alcoholic beverages at the Airpark is forbidden at all times. This rule will be enforced.
Sorry if that puts a damper on things, but I brought this up with Joe quite some time ago.

Shui,
What time does your flight arrive? I was planning to be there a little earlier, but maybe could make an adjustment. We'll get you there, somehow, for sure.
I'm definitely leaving Sunday morning though. I drive right past LAX coming and going.

RE: BEST IN THE WEST JET RALLY!!!!!!!
I was reading in another thread here on RCU about are 72mhz banned from jet events. Best In The West will not ban any jet from flying at the show on 72, however, we will not have a radio impound for any radios on 72. Any pilots on 72, will have to police themselves, and BITW Organizers as well as the Tailwinds club will not be responsible for anyone flying with this band.
Thanks, Joe!!!
Thanks, Joe!!!

RE: BEST IN THE WEST JET RALLY!!!!!!!
AVTI does have a frequency Pin station that can be used by the 72 fliers to keep their channel open. But as Joe stated, we will have no responsibility for frequency control.
Thanks!

RE: BEST IN THE WEST JET RALLY!!!!!!!
Hello Everyone
Doug Killebrew (AV Tailwinds VP) here to post a comment on how excited the club is getting to have this event, especially after reading some of the posts on this forum. Some of you might know me as a pylon and giant scale racer, but please don't hold that against me. I can't wait to see some of the jets fly that are mentioned on the forum. For those that don't know, I have arranged for a close friend of mine to donate his time with the food. He is a BBQ champion in several states and I hope you will enjoy his food as much as we do here in the Antelope Valley. His website is www.allhogsgotoheavenbbq.com. He has gone about as nuts on bbq as you guys on your jets like building a complete kitchen/bbq/sleeper on a fifth wheel trailer from the ground up. I will be out at the field from Friday thru Sunday helping with the food and encourage you to look me up if I don't run accross you first. I'm off to prepare for a Q-40 race this weekend at Whittier, of course my 190mph stuff isn't nearly as impressive as yours.
May you have a safe travels and testing as you prepare for the BEST IN THE WEST JET RALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
