Talk to Mart some more I know he has somethng that will work for you.
Yup, Leo is right!

I have received the new Waverider Apache hull from Mart, and it is a VERY solid, light and overall beautiful boat!
Just for your information, I am building the boat for rough sea conditions -so- if open sea is your objective, this could be a valuable option. ;-)

Will be opening a build thread in the next days, maybe you will be interested in the pics.

P.s.: also I suggest you sell that air cooled motor package and get a modified Zen or RCMK, otherwise it won't be much fun, especially with that 70+mm propeller!
Thanks for the compliments m8,i cant wait to see your build once you get started as i know you have some big plans for the boat .
Leo what can i say .

well im not gonna drive in open sea, but it will be choppy and some waves!
How is the apache 51''hull compared to Super g hulls in that condition?
I own an Enforcer Super Sport which is the same hull as the Super G. The Super G is great in very light chop, no more than 4 inches I'd say. Anything more than that and she is not going to be stable, great for stunt boating. Be prepared to use a retrieve boat often. The 51" Apache will handle the chop a bit better but has better looking deck. I would still recommend one of Mart's boats http://www.waveridermouldings.zoomshare.com/0.html it’s a better boat for the conditions you plan to run in.

Mart I Almost forgot nice job on the new logo.

If you want to make it super simple, just buy an electric RTR.
For example, I have two 40inch monos(Hype Razor) here that go at 45Mph out of the box! Very solid and astonishing performance for the money!

Otherwise, I suggest you take in all our advices and get dirty with a build of a big boat!

P.s.: yes, nice logo Mart!

I got the quote for painting Martin's Apache of mine, just like the new Cigarette Racing AMG 46' boat. (please google it for images)

Considering I will put the stickers, the painter will only have to paint the deck and sides white and grey, on top ofa very good Gel Coat basis.
Non the less, he quoted me Eur400 for the job.

Does this sound expensive to you guys?

I could never pay that much for a paint job on an rc boat. I'll suffer with my own less than perfect jobs. Part of the hobby. You intend on presenting this as a gift as I remember so you might want a proffessional job. As far as his price, he is a proffessional. Meaning he does it for a living , his time and shop time justify it.
Sorry to see the dissapointment in your new engine. Thats stupid if you ask me. Can't the cooling cap be spun around?
My truck was a whole new front end. When I got the news on the phone I ordered my new strut and rudder and a few other goodies. Figured spending was happening, might as well make a few purchases that make me feel good.
I like to have all pieces together before I start building. They seem to all go in as a family so I haven't made a move yet. Or perhaps I'm getting lazy.

Yes, the guy is a pro, the person that paints my helmets for rallying in the Italian Championship.Still, he is expensive!

No, the boatwill be for me, butI am a perfectionst! I think I have put already 7-8 man hours only on the custom hatch...
Unless someonecomes up and offers me a worthy amount of money for it (onceit is finished), I will be the happy owner!

No worries for the engine, it is all solved, thanks!

Happy to hear your truck has been revived ;-) and that you are almost ready foryour build!

Cheers,
AJ

Sorry Adriano, I misunderstood. I was under the impression that you were building this as a gift for family friends, owner of the Cigarrette company. That would be a hard person to impress and that is why I thought you were going to such trouble. Pretty nice gift I was thinking.
Glad you got things sorted out with RCMK. So far they seem pretty fair in their business practices.

No, sorry about the confusion mate.

The owner of Cigarette company is a friend of family friends: these people had acquired the licence to build Cigarette boats for Europe.
I don't even remember why I pointed this out...

Hello,

What do you guys think about the WD Steerable Drive (Arneson Style) on a 56" Apache?

Attached are some pictures with cardboard template of the drive on the hull.

Thanks for comments!!!

Regards,

Aaron

i belive the drive is a little big for a scale look but they do look nice i have a MHZ S6 drive on my 57 inch Apache and it is a iottle big for scale looks but it looks awsome on the back with the wet exhaust and trimtabs think i read on another fourm that the drive is still alittle big even on a 65 inch hull but if the larger size isnt an issue then its a verry cool drive
