Oil mix ratio for DLE engines
I will be getting a new DLE 30 and i'm reading that they should run a 32:1 mix even after break-in. Some are saying the same about the 111. I've been running my 111 at 50:1 using Bel-ray MC-1. Am I just lucky that I haven't blown up the motor 0r is the 32:1 just for break-in?

Not to sound like a jerk but did you use the search to see if you could find info on oil ratios? This topic is one of the probably the most over debated subject on this and every other RC gas engine forum on the internet. There is a new thread on it about every other day.

No, 32:1 for break-in then go to Red Line Synthetic 50:1!!
(just thought I'd chime in and fire up the oil debate some more...)

Why not use 30-1 like recommended and stay with it. Using Penzoil for air cooled engines. More oil ....better ring seal...more power....pretty simple. Capt,n

I'm sorry, I did not want to start another debate on what is the best oil. I have been using Bel-ray on all my gas engines @ 50:1 just like Bel-ray recommends. I will continue to use Bel-Ray, that isn't in question. My question is do I go with Bel-ray's recommendation of 50:1 or do I go with DLE's recommendation of 32:1? I'm sure every one has there favoret oil so lets not debate that, but what mix ratio's are you using?

If you are currently using Bel-Ray at 50:1 and that's what it's rated for, stick with that for all your engines.
32:1 is commonly used for mineral based oils and mainly during initial break-in (to accelerate the initiual wear)

Mate, let the oil decide the ratio, not the engine.

RE: Oil mix ratio for DLE engines
To add on to this thread on deciding oils and oil ratio.
At Razor Hobbies when running all of our DLE engines even other brands its best to run a synthetic oil. The synthetic oil helps to preserve engine life and prevent engine wear. On our DLE-55 and DLE-111 we run 40:1 full synthetic even during break in. We literally have one of the first DL-50 engines that is over 2 years old and still screaming power.
The oil we use is Castrol Power RS TTS 2T Full Synthetic. You can buy this at any Oreilly's Auto Parts or at Auto Zone. We even sell it on our website at [link=http://www.razorhobbies.com]www.RazorHobbies.com[/link].
Don't settle for regular non synthetic motor oils. Save your self the trouble and investment by going with a full synthetic oil.

Red line, Royal Purple, there's others.
50:1 works great. Not trying to start a brand war, as I said in my first post, any high quality oil will work fine.
As for amsol, i had crud in my engine from running that stuff, it's a lot cleaner with RP

i have no problem trusting these 2 oils.
i brought up the amsoil because it was discussed as a great lubricant by a few members at our site, although nothing mentioned as a fuel lube.

My donkeys's ears are not larger when they pay attention, chewing away. Love it!
PS
I stock Mobil1-2t, Putoline rs959, putoline MHX, Aspen-2T. All these oils are able to mix at higher ratioslike 1:25 to 1:50 and are of sufficient viscosity to cater for hot running engines, especially the Mobil, MHX and Aspen.
Aspen oil is developed with Husqvarna for use in their professional chainsaws. Think of clogged air filters, aircooling systems and the like. Out in the woods the oil has to keep the lumberjack's engine running under most adverse circumstances and under heavy loads.
