RE: Plum Island MA Jet Rally 23-24 Oct Roll Call
Wow....never thought I'd see a jet rally at Plum Island! I assume this at the airport there?
I've lived in MA off and on for years (last time in '95-98) but never saw any jet action, I was a member of the Cape Ann and 107th clubs.
I have a cottage on Plum Island and a home in nearby Groveland, will be in town (from normally sunny San Diego )to winterize and close down for the winter, will try and stop by for at least one day.
just sold my only transportable jet and jet case [] - Anyone want to rent out a jet for the weekend?

RE: Plum Island MA Jet Rally 23-24 Oct Roll Call
In-friggin'-credible! What a weekend we all had there.
Saturday was fairly cool out with blue skies and a stiff breeze, but a stiff breeze .....that was straight down the runway.
Sunday was high overcast and not even a half knot of wind was blowing.....we had ZERO wind! The airport was as busy as JFK International with turbine jet ops.
I don't have any pictures, but we'll get some up very soon.
BTW, not one aircraft was lost or even heavily damaged! [8D]

Took some pics and will post later. Next year I'll try to arrange a visit as well, maybe bring a jet if possible. Nice blast from the past, I took a few lessons at 2B2 back in 1976....

Big Mike , Thank you and congratulations for a fabulous first annual Plum Island Jet Rally.
Sue and I had a great time and we really like this event... it's good to hear it will happen (hopefully) twice a year.
I'm sure I can speak for all the pilots that attended.... We love the smooth runway, but what is even better than that is there are NO LANDING LIGHTS to 'slow' a jet down.
Thanks again Mike for a nice place to fly jets.

Hi Guys,
Had a chance to recover from our fantastic visit to the first Plum Island jet event, and now, I can say a few things.
Excellent location, right up against the beach to enjoy when the flying is over during the warmer months.
Really nice local folks that I introduced myself to, very friendly, very eager to ask questions about what we do, and of course, how much, and so fourth.
A lot of familiar faces, more over a few new ones to the jet community. Always glad to help here, I enjoy seeing successful outcomes with the new guys. Furthermore, glad to be given the opurtunity to fly a few really nice aircraft for their owners.
Karen and I are eagerly awaiting the dates for the possible June gathering. Rest assured, we will be there to once again enjoy everybodys company. Who knows, we may even leave the propane heater at home during the next visit!
Really nice to meet the new guys, and always great to see the regulars.
See you all soon,
Frank.
