Guys, I`m in the process of building a world models AT6 Texan...when I was telling one of the guys at the field about it he said it would "fly scale" what really does that mean??? how is something like this compared to say a mini pulse or PZ corsair??? thx..Jason

When I hear planes described as "flys scale" I think of three things:

Low power to weight ratio
High wingloading
low or slow responsive control surfaces.

If you assemble an ARF using manufacturor's recommeded parts, they rarely fly scale. If they did they probably wouldn't sell well.

Thanks, I have tried to up the power by replacing the stock motor with a park 480...I just have a feeling it won`t be a floater as the wing is smaller and thinner than the mini pulse and the thing is heaver with the retracts and all..about 32 oz.. Jason

"Flying Scale" means the plane will fly more like the full sized plane would. Your Pz Corsair is very light and powerfull, has almost unlimited vertical climb, and floats in for landings. A full sized Corsair, (or a model that flies scale) is nothing like that. They have a limited climb rate, slower roll rate, and must land faster while under some power, no floating in.

When someone has an overweight and/or underpowered RC plane that can barely keep itself in the air, the guy that owns it will say it "flies scale" to make himself feel better!
