My Own BackSlash 4x4!!! racing against field of 1/8's
Hi to everyone...
a long time since i post something... but i was in the progress to convert my Slash 4x4 to Backlash 4x4 and did it without any inconvenience....
I found over the net the JANG project and somebody else that pushed me to convert... since i was goin every weekend to a race track... i realize that the stock slash is not good for big fast jumps... there was almost no way to do the triple big one because in the air the body work as a parachute and stops the truck big time... so i went to the convertion and VOILA... looks, works, runs like a true 1/8 scale buggy... wy is this? the convertion improbes a lot the aerodinamics of the truck in the air dramatically... so for now... i can go jump the triple easy... even over pass it for a bit...
On this track, there are friendly races... where i can race these beast... electric, nitro either one i can pair in speed running 2S LIPO 5000 and 6000MAH... Mamba max pro ESC and a velineon motor whit a fan...
Ok enough about talking... let see some pictures!!!

This is on my local track... with the 1/8 buggy tires i get a little more inertia so i can acomplish a full front flip... and a littler wheelie at the end!

The first image behind me is a HPI VORZA... and i could keep up with him... then he passes me... then i got him back... and it came a Kyosho Inferno MP9... same history... but the driver was not that god... The vorza one is a good driver!!! on the last picture you can see the same high and flight characteristics of the 1/8
PS: Vorza 6s A123 19.8volts 2200KV
BackSlash 2S 7.4volts Lipo 3500KV

These are with the SC tires... there is small diference in diameter... 1/8's are taller and heavier so i loosed a little bit of inertia so it was harder to balance the truck in the air... but still a lot of fun to drive... this wheels are Pro Lines Calibers on TwinSpoke wheels...
Later that day i change the rear tires for a couple of 2.2 BowTies M3... and on this terrain they work better than the calibers but a had to deal with the oversteer with the bowties behind and calibers on the front!!!
only thing i can say... stock rear carrier don't stand this kind of jump... whell... they supose not to.. LoL!!!
and i broke one time the front A-arm... so i went to RPM... BIG MISTAKE... RPM arms bends when they hit the ground hard... and this bends the shock shafts... 4 times in one day... so i went to stock a-arms and try not to NOSE DIVE on the jump....
PS: The slash 4x4 is a nice truck... but with these convertion it improves drasticaly.... only thing i say... i have to drive a lot easyer then a real 1/8 because the truck is so light that it tends to roll when you hit some grip on the track sideways... using the brakes a little helps with this and the car seems more quicker around cornes than a real 1/8... this is because they are heavier and slash is lighter.... a little less speed on the big straigh... just a little... but i regain what i lost on the corners...
I think it won't be capable to run like this a lot of time... i had made some changes to the truck to hang on the abuse for a while... but driving a real 1/8... you can feel the diference on weight that helps stabilize it better because of this, i have to be more concentrated to keep up whit them...
It wass a hell of a change... totally recomended!!!
