Default Old N.I.B. Merco 0.35 Black Streak

Hello again everybody,

This is part three of my dad's find. The first part is this thread :[link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_10124215/tm.htm]Old N.I.B. ED Diesel Racer Mk. III engine[/link]. there is the second part : [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_10136125/tm.htm]Old N.I.B. Rossi 0.60 ABC[/link]
To get in context, my Dad recently bought part of a man's estate and it so happens that that man used to own a hobby shop in Arvida, Quebec, Canada. His name is Doris Galarneau and many men my age were taught to fly control line models by this man, in high school.

This third engine is a 0.35 Merco Black Streak marine engine. In fact he has two of them New In Box. And I have never used a marine engine before, so I know nothing about them, and we would like to know a little more about them. Things like performance, reliability, history. Again we are not interested in selling it. Just curious about RC history.

Thank for any info you want to share!
Georges

I had a Merco Black Streak C/L Stunt engine for many years.

It ran about like a Fox rocket 35. Slightly more power than the Fox Stunt 35 and lessor 2-4 break.

Here is a link to Merco. I have a Merco .61 that I got last spring in a Mighty Mambo. I am saving that plane and engine for a spring vintage flyin. Enjoy.

I bought a Merco .61 like new. It had Twin glowplugs and the carb had a extra arm to hook a servo for mid flight fuel adjustment. I kept it like new...but finally sold it. I miss that engine!!! Capt,n
