"Makes me wonder: Did the SE5a fly with a fairly nose-down attitude? "
I read somewhere that that statement is true, so that the pilot could see above the top of the cowling. And very possibly to keep from gaining altitude at fighting/combat speed, as opposed to just cruising.

I'm not having any trouble posting photos on RCU, but the procedure is slightly different now. But you do not have to go to Edit to do multiple photos.
After selecting one pic in Browse, hit OK; then click on Upload again and repeat. It scarcely takes any longer because when you do it one by one the uploads happen very quickly. When I used to select three pics at a time in Browse, the upload would take longer anyway. It requires a few seconds...nothing compared to the time it takes to photograph, download, reduce size, etc.
The trouble with RC Groups is that "Scale Fuel Planes" is a backwater because the site caters mainly to electric power. We've got a lot of good WWI stuff going here in the 1/6 to 1/3 scale range, powered by glow, electric and gas. I hope you'll reconsider and keep this at RCU. I think it's a better forum.

Haha, one way worked, the other way didn't. I'm not going to spend the rest of the evening testing both ways, just to see if they work or not. Maybe there is a glitch in the old way that they don't want to fix because this feature will be discontinued soon anyway.

but I've just been through Abu's CI build thread and there are a whole bunch of images missing there - which sucks big time!!

For me the issue is not the uploading...I'm doing that just fine now, with the method I described. But the loss of photos on old posts is such a drag!
As far as I can tell, photos posted after the crash can all be retrieved.
I think RCU should have sent out an explanatory message to all subscribers so we have some idea of what happened and what to expect. But it's not bad enough to make me switch.

Since RCU is not working reliably at the moment, I think it's best just to do the SE5a build (which I've just started) over on RC-GROUPS. I won't be doing an all-out super-scale build. I just want a no-hassles place to post some construction photos.
The only part of RC-GROUPS I've ever really looked at is the Scale Electric forum and there is some really top-notch scale building going on there. Rob's 1 1/2 Strutter is just mind-blowing. Other than the fact that it's mostly smaller electrics, I'd say the standard of scale building is on par with RCSB.
Jim, I'll continue the CI thread here on RCU, though it annoys me to no end that a dozen or more of the pages have lost their photos, but I just can't be bothered fighting to upload for what I intend to be a "quick build" for the SE5a. Maybe by time I get back to the CI, RCU will have sorted out its problems.

OK Don, I'll check in over there. There may be a different response to Macs and PCs. When I had a Mac I couldn't upload anything to RCU through Explorer, but Firefox would work. It's a mystery to me.

RE: CDScaleDesigns SE5a (Quick Build)
Sorry about the lousy picture quality but my shop camera is an old Sony Digital Mavica that used 3 1/2" floppys, Its easy because you dont have to resize them but it wont focus well for close ups. I was hoping the cockpit would come out better but its pretty bad.

I can see I've got my work cut out for me! But then again, I promised myself this would be a quick build. So maybe I need to take the "fly first, detail later" approach.
