It may be worth it if you get the parts cheap.  The main difference is the main chassis, steering and the region around where the front suspension mounts.  Body mounts are different too and the back bumper on the blitz is more extravagant.  It should be easy.

i got my crimpers at safeway and they where like 2.50$ lol. but the seem to work good as i tried to pull the crimped wire apart but couldn't to it
so i guess there good
ORIGINAL: redfisher1974

Yeah you could do it with a rock if you had to, But you can not get the same quality of crimp. This being said a good pair of crimper's last a life time and are more then worth the money.

Cannot somebody do it with pliers? I think 39$ to 400$ are too much for special pliers...

Do yourself a HUGE favour and buy the $39. If you buy the $12 ones it'll end up costing you $51 as the $12 are useless and you'll end up eventually ordering a $39 crimper, and that's without mentioning the cost of wasted power poles.

The Anderson Power Poles have to have a proper crimp so they don't pull apart easily and must be uniform so that the metal connector can fit properly into the plastic housing.

I'm old school - Deans, solder, done. Then again a good soldering iron (which I don't have) costs more than a crimper.
First day back to work since the 23rd. Man I forgot how much it sucks.....

I have a baja 5b SS coming.

Soldering's a snap once you've learned the knack of how to do it properly. With all my 1/8 stuff I use EC5 connectors and with my 1/10 rc's my preferred method is to plug the esc directly into the lipos as most of my lipos are the internal bullet plug style. In the past I've had great success using Power Poles. In my mind, for 1/10 scale, Power Poles are perfect when a connector is needed. Never ever had one fail or even heat up. I don't know if they'd hold up to a 9000kv motor, but I've run a 6.5t motor on Power Poles with no troubles at all.

LOL I've a similiar one as yours Red and I haven't used it for months. Lately, I've been using my 90W Radio Shack soldering iron with a worn-out tip and couldn't be happier

I am liking being able to put on a connector before a soldering iron can even heat up

Will do. It should be here in 7-14 days. The show price was 875+ tax and the local shop quoted 900+ tax so lets see where this goes.

Hey Fellers,
Just wanted to pass on some info I found after about a week of searching. I ran my efirestorm flux for about a year with a NiMH battery and just got a new charger and lipo battery for Christmas. I remember reading about needing to set up the esc for "low voltage cutoff" but I lost the manual and haven't been able to find any info on here or on HPI's website on how to do it. Most people will tell you to get the Castle Link and do it with that but this is one of the few settings you can do without the Link. I finally found the steps to do it on the hpieurope website. There was an extra instruction book with my car that focused on the esc and that info is included on the manual pdf file on the hpieurope site. (Page 40) For some reason the USA site doesn't include that when you download the manual from their site.

Anyways, if you're a looking for the steps to do it click here and go to page 40!
http://www.hpieurope.com/manuals/pdf/10554.pdf

FYI, I finally ran the car today with a lipo battery and wow!

+3 on Dean Connectors, all my RC's have deans even my backyard bashers have deans....
Never Tried the powerpoles, but CRIMPING is the worst thing you can possibly do for a good connection.
Please try to avoid crimping it's dangerous...

Sorry but you are wrong, Proper Crimp connections are better then soldering. This is a known fact.

Unless he was talking about those cheap little crimps (not sure of the name) ??

But in a Power Pole there is absolutely nothing wrong with a good crimp.

Crimping is done in the space shuttle, Air planes and All high amperage industrial substations. You need the proper tool and good crimps. Try Goggling crimping vs soldering and you will find alot of good reading.

*Note- I am not trying to say power poles are better then deans, Just crimp connections have been proved to be mechanically stronger then solder

I was not trying to get anyone to change from deans....And the hobbyking ones are not deans they are clones, probably will work fine.

Any "high current" connectors are good. Power Poles aren't very popular in the rc car/truck world but are definitely a viable alternative, especially if you can't or don't want to solder.
