tanks in the snow
We got a fresh coat of snow earlier today, so I brought some of my tanks out for a drive. I recorded a few videos, and thought I'd post them up here for you guys to enjoy!

Snowy hills, frozen river, bridge to defend, it plays like the eastern front.
I like the ambush on the UPS guy.

RE: tanks in the snow
up until thurday all the snow here had melted. the last 2 days have been blizzard like conditions here. it looks as though there is a break in the snow right now so hopefully i can get out and drive the bulldog in it. from what i can see outside the snow looks pretty dense. the last snow fall i ran in was grainy, kind of like sand and my bulldog kept sinking into it. perhaps today i can get some better footage of the beast in the snow

RE: tanks in the snow
Wayne, Happened to turn on computer this afternoon and caught your snow videos. I really enjoyed seeing your jagpanther manouver through and over those relatively high snow hills. And then your KV 1 got into the fray.Like your paint job on the Jagpanther btw. Then proceeded to scan your tank collection.Very impressive, with varying camoflauge schemes applied to each tank.
Thanks for posting the videos.

Very nice video and pictures guys. For those of you who have not tried it, the tanks do better in the snow than you would think. It is all about ground pressure. The NEAD winter battle day is comming up this Sunday in Westwood, NJ so I hope you have been practicing in the white stuff like Wayne has. Please sound off if you are coming on the other post... Don, can you make this one? I think we will be doing a Battle of the Bulge theme, ala Bastogne.

RE: tanks in the snow
I run stock electronics in all my tanks, but all of them have 3:1 gears. I love the winterketten tracks, they do great in snow, I think they are worth the $125.00 I paid for them. I switch out to stock tracks in the summer just like snow tires.
This is some of the shots from the last vid slowed down by half. I think the way the snow moves in the tracks looks cool. Notice how the winterkettens move the snow through the tracks as the stug drives. The jagd does it too, but not as much.
