RE: The new Tornado sport jet
Managed to get all my servos mounted today and extension leads sorted. I ended up buying a pair of hitec dig. servos for the flaps, I had one reversed to avoid Matchbox and reversing modules etc.
Ive got a receiver and pair of battery packs sorted.
So far so good! Starting to look like my first jet will be good to go within a few weeks of spare time.

RE: The new Tornado sport jet
Just wanted to share some pictures of the P20 side by side with the P200SX. We are building a P20 airframe and ready to fly next week. Also here is the electric conversion almost ready. We have installed a intake lip and we are making an exhaust pipe.

P20 airframes are a bit scarse as the moment, I have a Habu 32 on order to put mine in, but this will not be available for a while yet. Come on spill the beans, what are you building for it?

I would love to see!My work bench like that!. Henry I'm almost finish with my tornado, all I need to do is the push rods and the canopy and balance. Does the plane balance upright or inverted?
Btw, I Was not going to use the fod but I see now it can be used.

RE: The new Tornado sport jet
OK, I got my wings done. I installed all the servos and used SWB 1inch arms for Futaba. I usedTitanium links with ball ends, sizes are 4 1/2" for the flaps and 5" for the Ailerons. I ran the air lines for the brakes and retracts. I used yellow air line for the retracts and purple for the brakes.I added quick disconects to the airlines. I am also putting on these plugs from Dreamworks that put all servo leads in oneconnector. That way itseasiertodisassemble. Here are some pics of the progress.

Ball links on the fibreglass horns are not a good idea, in my experience they will put a sideways load on the horn and eventually twist the horn to destruction, better to use an ordinary snap link on the surface horn, ball links on the metal servo arm are Ok, I had Phenolic horns on a second hand Rookie and to take them off all I had to do was push them sideways and they broke off, they are not good in shear unless in pairs please take this as just a bit of advice.

SO I guess Henry's manual is wrong? It shows the ball links on the control horn. I have them on numerous other things and the work fine. The move freely so I would think they would not bind. I would think a snap link would bind or cause a break or come off, before a ball link.

They do move freely, but if you look at the moment arm from the push rod to the horn structually they are all wrong, I have been advocating dual horns for years with ball links and if you look at most of the major manufactures of composite aircraft the are now fitting just that, the stand offs that you have on your ball link connections make the whole thing even worse, they will introduce a turning moment onto the horn and eventually fatigue and snap them, you can take this advice or ignor it up to you.

These Horns are made of G10 and very strong I can't break them. The wood and epoxy would fail first. I just tried to break a G10 arm.

RE: The new Tornado sport jet
Andy is absolutely correct they are .094 G10 they will not break. If any can break one with out using tools I will give them a free Tornado. No servo will break those horns. Here is the link to the specs. this is what we make all control horns and catapult mounts for our UAV's. It is stronger than any thing I have ever seen. The only difference between this and carbon fiber is heat index

Thanks Henry, no problem.
Henry if possible can you post some pics of the install you are doing on those jets. I have my UAT in the center in front of the tank like the pics in the manual, but i need to move it some where else(any Ideas? ), to be able to easily put that front wing bolt in and out. i was thinking on putting it in a vertical position on the front left side of the tank, that would give me some more room, but need your advice on how safe is it to put a UAT totally vertical.
Thanks!

RE: The new Tornado sport jet
Well you can purchase them now directly from us. As for our dealers in Europe,UK and AZ not sure what is up with them we have not received and orders for stock. I am currently working with a freight forwarder in NY that is trying to get me a flat rate shipping to UK and most of the countries in Europe if the dealers there don't come through. Never the less we will have our airplanes available to that side of the world
