Default RCM Magazine Plans Service thrives!

In my quest for plans for the vintage Candy aerobat from the 1960's, I found that RCM Plans Service still had an active web site. Knowing that they had some history of poor service after the magazine went away, I searched several of these forum sites for any posts related to their reliability, and found only a few positive notes from as far back as 2006. My little bit of research led me to take the risk and make an on-line purchase for the Candy and the Super Kaos plans. Sure enough, my Visa showed the charge applied within a few hours of the purchase, and today less than two weeks later I have the plans in hand, cleanly printed on good quality paper, folded evenly, and packaged with a copy of the original RCMconstruction articles and in double envelopes. Good job, RCM!

So hopefully, if anyone does an internet search on RCMplans, they'll find this post and feel a little more confident that they'll get good service!

And no, I have no affiliation with RCM. I just like dropping some good feedback on occasion. There's too many "haters" out there.

Um - now I just gotta start building!

That is good info to know. I like the fact that you got a copy of the construction article with you plans. If you order plans from Air Age Publications which is Model Airplane News, you do not get the construction article. I was told that they quit doing that 5 or 6 years ago but you can order the back issue of the mag with the article if it is still available.

I had ordered Bridi UFO and Dirty Birdy plans from them last April and had both plans within two weeks. They also came with the construction articles. I would definitely order from them again. They seem to be reliable!

Iemailed RCMPlans.coma couple of weeks ago with a question about their Beagle Pup #359 plans and asked what RCL68 meant. I was surprised to get a reply in a couple of days. I had never heard of or seen a copy of RC Limited (RCL) before. Istill have yet to find one but was told that they would send a copy of the text (not a copy of the article itself) with the plans. Iwas also surprised to see that they are now located in Oregon as their main office used to be in southern California.

R/C Unlimited was a single special issue that RCM published in 1968. Sort of like the annuals that some of the magazines put out in the 60's. Attached is a copy of the cover and index page.

"their main office used to be in Southern California. "

A lot of companies main offices "USED" to be in Southern California. Thank the tree hugging, bleeding heart, liberals here.
