I just haven't been flying much.  Kids are keeping me busy.  Otherwise I could give you a report as to how my engine is doing.  I am in the middle of a recovering job and  I am about 80% finished getting my Seagull Extra 260 flight ready.  The MT-35 should haul the Seagull around well.  I plan to fly it in my first IMAC contest next year.

The MT-35 Seagull Extra is almost ready.  It is just in need of some servo upgrades.  I have HS645's on it that have become sloppy.  The search for a decent servo that I can afford is a difficult one.

Replaced the gears and they are still sloppy.   I guess I am expecting too much from those servos.  I talked to Hitec about it and they told me that they are their lower end servos and I should get better servos.  I have 7955's in another plane.  But,  600 bucks for servos, not happening.

Not to hijack the thread but...

Take a look at Hyperion Atlas servos. They're also made in Korea and appear to be very high quality at reasonable prices. I'm running them in my pattern birds with excellent results.

I've been toying with my MT-35 for about 6 months now and can not get it tunned wright......
It starts easy enough and I can set the top rpm no problem, but it's the idle and transition I'm having trouble with.
At idle the rpm tends to hunt. I can not tune it out. Now transition; I keep riching up the L needle untill I get a good tranisition on the ground and goog top end rpm.
I put it in the air and the transition sucks and the max rpm drops on the verticals.
It's ok to fly just normal pocking hoes in the sky, but try to do any 3D work and the enigne is just not responcive enough and I can not get max rpm unless you wind it up and just the dealy in throttle responce is a killer.
I'm using a flexi header and Can on this as well.
Any ideas??????

If you are losing rpm on verticals than the high end it too lean. As for a changing transition in the air you are getting some kind of cowl effect going on that is changing the mixture. This can effect the high as well as the low setting. It sounds like it is more of a set up problem than a tuning problem. You may have to change how it is baffled, add more exit area or even put a vent on the carb.

Well I finaly got this engine sorted. Tryed flying it with out the cowl and tuned it on the go.
Had it running sweet. Just about to try it with the cowl fitted and in she went.
It's either the broken wire on the switch's soilder joint that I found, or the Assan 2.4 V2 Ghz RX went on me. All of a sudden I had nothing.

Sorry to hear about the loss! But from that, a lesson to be learned? I did the same thing (using a different brand radio) teaching me why I should convert my systems to 2 receiver battery packs and 2 switches. Lesson learned here... it was expensive enough to only want to learn one time.

Strange their is no MT gas engines in the MT gas engines web page. What happened their. I was looking for a flex header for my MT-35. I am going to install a EScomposite pipe on it and hopefully it will pull my EF Extra 300 78".

It will pull it fine but you'll probably need to braze up a header of stainless parts from DA. Same flange pattern as a Zenoah 26 if memory serves. You'll need the exhaust flange, an elbow and a couple pieces of pipe plus silver braze.

Got it running. APC 18x10W at 7950. I need to compare that with the you guys have posted. The header is 11 inches long and the the pipe is 17" to the first baffle. I am not sure if I should shorten or not. I need to learn about pipe tuning. I am going to fly it anyway tommorow. I need to get out and practice for a IMAC contest in two weeks. So far so good. I think.

Got some practice in with my new pipe setup. 3 flight I fractured the head right before the turbo tube coupler to the pipe. Cheap flex header from milehighrc. I have some more work to do to get it mixed right. Problem, pucker factor kicks in when my hand is 3 inches away from a APC 18x10 turning at nearly 8000 rpms. Looks like the thread has been fairly quiet. Must mean that you guys are not having any problems.
