Default Prather Commander II gel coat repair

Attached is a photo of some gel coat damage I am trying to repair, can anyone help me out with this. My LHS sold me a resin finishing kit and a few forums had suggested using talcum powder with resin to form a putty to fill the repair area. Then all you do is sand and paint, can anybody help me with this and give me good advice or let me what components I actually need????

Thanks for the link! So is finishing resin what I need? The video said that gel coat is resin with the color mixed in.
