Hi argyis

Nice work on moulding the new stabs. Was the flutter in the elevators or rudder. Also where do you have your CG set and how much deflection (mm) are you using for landing flap

Thanks
David

Thanks argyis.I have almost finished mine, just working on the cockpit at the moment. I was going to use a pull pull cable system for the rudder using the same servo as the nose wheel steering but I think I will put a servo in the tail and use a carbon fibre push rod. I have a sevro on each elevator with external push rods to a carbon fibre horn expoxied into elevators. I will be using a Moki 2.1 and a 20x10 prop so hopefully I won't have any flutter problems.

The two servos sound perfect. And the moki 2.1 was very nice combination. It is very strong motor! What about the exhaust?

I will be using a J Tec wrap-around pitts style muffler. I had cut 10mm out of the bottom of the firewall to clear the muffler which was quite easy to do. Also had to make a couple of clearance holes in the cowl which really won't be seen.

Well it took me over a year due to some issues beyond my control, but I finally got my PC-21 built and flew it this past weekend at the St. George President's Day Fly-In in Southern Utah.

I went ahead and cut off the cockpit area so that batteries could be accessed from the top, and installed two BBI Thunderbird pilots, along with a custom sound system to simulate a turboprop. It was a nice straightforward build with very few issues. The kit is absolutely gorgeous and one of those rare products where all the parts actually fit together nicely and everything came out very clean. Tomas at VQ got me my plane in short order, then I had to let it collect dust for a while, but it's finally done and I'm incredibly happy with the results!

This video is a compilation of the first three flights. More to come as weather permits!

Great Vids Argyris! Keep 'em coming!

Seeing two of these planes together is a real treat. There's another local fellow building a PC-21 who bought one the following day after seeing mine, and I'll be able to fly with him in a few weeks when he finishes his build.. I'm excited to fly some formation with two of them!

God morning
I use the ZDZ 40 with a rear exhaust. The performance is great. You have to build your own exhaust for it. The ony thing that shows is the plug out the bottom and the exit for the exhaust. It makes for a nice flying model. You will need to add some nose weight, about one LB.

Maybe just enough,if your not a speed demon. A three blade prop would clear the ground and may give you good performance. The plane has clean lines and is fast, so you would fly a little slower. It still would be fun.

thanks for that mate but the sad part is the plane came to a sudden death due to a servo failing on the wing was a total right off so if any one is interested i have a 26 cc motor to fit it spinner cowl and a full set of retracts to suite the kit total usage time was about 2 flights the 3rd one the servo let go i fought it for 6 of the longest mins in my life but in the end gravaty won lol
