RE: WARBIRDS OVER TEXAS (WBOTX)
OK Guys....
Just checked the 'countdown script' that I have for the promo WBOTX banner at the OKSS Website... and we are down to 70 days left until showtime...!!! Man... you can smell it... it's that close...!!! Let's light a fire under this WBOTX 2011 thread and talk about the Warbirds that are planning on showing up until all the 'Cabin Fever' goes completely away...!!!
BTW... Terry... Holland's Corsair is 'THIS CLOSE' to the Maiden....!!! As soon as the (now we need a) fuel pump, special lube for the external rockers... and couple of more items. I have waited forever to hear my very first 5 Jug Moki 250 in person. And Bill is my only hope. I'm getting old you know.

You will love the sound of that radial. We have a busa 1/3 scale stearman that comes to our warbird with one. That engine could rock me to sleep with that idle. When it throttles up, it raises the hair on the back of my neck.

Tires on the Corsair... or the trailer that hauls it around..??
We were invited to a static setup in Shawnee, OK yesterday for a 'Youth Aviation Adventure' program at the Gordon Cooper Aviation School campus. Bill had just done the 'fix' on the wing lock and had the wings folding and unfolding a couple of days before. Got to the hanger and something had happened to the pump, plunger (or something..??) and it wouldn't work for him. Along with wanting to hear that Moki run... I would like to see the wings fold and unfold. I'm sure Bill does as well. The cockpit canopy opening & closing is working as well as the running lights. Just a matter of time for the rest.
Edwin...
Personally I think that 5 jug Moki was made for a Stearman. It's just to dang good looking a motor to be hid under a cowl. Next time you see that Stearman owner... check and see if he had been told to start adding a fuel pump to his Moki...??? That had just come down from the Moki builders recently according to Bill. That and start lubing the exposed rockers with a certain kind of lube that is only found in Europe...??

Brian,
We are looking forward to seeing you and Ryan at the event and watching "Flak Bait" tear up the skies. I am quite sure that this will be the first LMA2 class plane to fly in North Texas. Terry and I checked and there shouldn't be a problem with getting the plane through the openings ... although you may take up two slots in the waiting line
One month and counting!

Hey Hellcat those are some gorgeous airplanes! I guess I will have to get my packet ordered, this looks like it will be a great meet I cancelled my trip to WBOOK[:@] The weather turned sour with 30mph winds and they got heavy rains last night. I received a message from a guy that says there new field location hold water very well[] So I guess its going to be local flying for me Thats good too!

Looks like us North Louisiana boys are gonna make it to the event after all. I hope the wind isn't blowing like it's been blowing here. We've had two solid months of 15+mph wind. Needless to say, we haven't been flying at all.

Terry, registration just sent in. Now if you would just turn the thermostat down about 20* we'd be golden.
