The problem is the courts can keep pushing the date back and there is a chance that he wont even go to court till after WC. So I understand
everyone saying if your not happy then dont support NSRCA and AMA. The problem with that is if we dont support them then we will have let one
guy kill all pattern contest. Then what?

Todd, the truth be known, it's probably Jason's attorney that keeps having the date of his trial pushed back. This in no way changes his situation. Just my insight___Everette

I think if Jason were truly a classy guy he'd pull out himself, guilty or not. If he's not then he can't lose. He'll look like the bigger man for doing the right thing even though he wasn't in the wrong. If he is guilty, then he'll look like someone that cares enough about the image of the sport to not want to tarnish it. That he isn't pulling out speaks volumes in my opinion. It's not like this is a once in a lifetime chance for him. He's already been there and done that. Lets hope he has a change of heart some where along the line, preferably before it's too late.

I am truly embarrased that the AMA (nor the NSCRA has lobbied) to have this guy kicked off the team. Innocent or guilty by the law has nothing to do with it anymore at this point. Pattern is a JUDGEMENT sport! Do you think his image is not tarnished? And yes we are an old school high morals macho bunch. I was surprised initially that so many just wanted to keep this hush. Jason does fly like the Gods, he was always friendly when I met him and a nice guy, but I am sorry no WC for him this time until all is resolved. AMA please drop him like a homesick brick!

Everyone seems to forget that in his statement he admitted doing everything he was arrested for.
I don't see how his trial could be anything other than guilty as charged.
With that in mind, he needs to either resign from the team or be removed by whoever has the authority to remove him.....right now.
He needs to go away and stay gone.

Just so you all are working from a positions of facts.  The charges against jason have been changed.  He is is no longer accused of soliciting a child on line.  He never conversed with a minor on line.  He conversed with an Police Agent, representing to be the Gardian of a minor.  The charges involving a minor would not hold up in Court, so have been changed.  My feeling is that this thing probably has a long way to go before we should be passing firm judgements.

Here are the Court Proceding regarding the charges.  They are public record.

WOW Mike I couldn’t agree with you more. These dirt slingers as you say are making our sport look bad. I also agree the members should stand behind Jason. But you know what they say you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make Tiger Woods be faithful. Thanks Mike for your post.

Thanks Confucius… I appreciate your concern. However if the sport as a whole came together and stood behind one of their own; then outsiders and supporters would have a different view and just might give credit and respect to this hobby. That is all I am saying. All the dirt slinging really discredits this sport.

Ace, why was my name even brought up in your rant? When was the last time I posted in this thread? January? I asked a simple question that should have a simple answer. I slung no mud. I even intentionally named no names. I had just given up on getting a public answer from the leadership and moved on. That being said, what did I do to deserve your ire? Ask the question? If that's the case, perhaps you need to look in the mirror when you say some of the things you say. When I asked the question in no way was I saying that I even cared what happened, the simple fact remained that a member of the USA F3A team was arrested in an internet sex sting. I'm not privy to the details of the case, but I'm willing to bet the records of the conversations between the individual and the officers clearly indicate that his intent was to meet up and have sex with a woman and an underage child in her care. Whether or not that's a violation of law is a matter for the courts, but illegal or not, it's just plain sick. I hope this person seeks the help he needs for whatever is wrong inside his head that makes him try to do these things. What scares me is the level of specificity in the alleged request makes me wonder if he's done this before, and furthermore, if he gets off with no penalty for this, would he try it again?

Do me a favor, should you choose to acknowledge my post with a response, please avoid the ad hominim attacks that you have been throwing out in previous posts because they only make your argument weak. Calling someone a moron doesn't automatically make you right, it just makes me think you don't have the verbal skills to make a cogent argument.

I think the same moron mentioned Jason tarnishing the sport. Like Michael Vic did football oh wait even after he tortured and murdered hundreds of innocent dogs; he still plays football. My question to those that thinks Jason tarnishes this sport is …How many people stop watching football because of Michael Vic? Oh and we wont mention Tiger Woods.
I don't think Micheal Vic played football from the time he was arrested until he was released from prison. And Tiger, although he will have to answer to a higher power, I don't think he was arrested and yes his actions have cost him dearly. Everyone has an opinion on this matter but I think the main problem is everyone just wants to know who is on the team, one way or another.

Hey RookiePilot, thanks for your comment and I do understand everyone wants to know who is on the team however 99.5% of these posts are persecuting Jason telling him he should get off the team. Until that decision is made bashing Jason is unwarranted and makes the people of this sport look ignorant to the laws of the land. I think everyone should just be patient and try to refrain from pointing fingers. I value everyone’s point of view. We need more friends in this hobby. That’s why I chose to take part in this sport for friendship and guidance not to join a group of judgmental cranky people whom themselves are sinners. I have made huge mistakes in my life and I am truly sorry for them however I learned by those mistakes and with that said I am not free from sin and I will not persecute Jason for his mistakes.
Thanks again ROOKIE

The main cause of the problem that exists is Jason . His actions and his actions alone lead to this siuation. His actions(stepping aside to take care of his legal matters) could also relieve a lot of the strife we are seeing out here. Secondary in fault is the AMA and NSRCA for letting it fester. There have been other circumstances where pilots were disciplined and a conviction was not necessary. If it were only cheating on a wife or watching porn then the law would not be involved. The accusation is a grave one and should be defended vigorously. Vigorously enough to keep his attentions focused on something other than flying model planes. I am a supporter of many things. None of those things has the right to unquestioned support and right now I believe the majority of us have a problem with him being on the team with this hanging over his head.

4U2NV I will not discount the alleged accusations as they are harsh. Yes maybe cheating on your wife or watching porn isn’t on the same level as the accusations against Jason, maybe I should have be geared to the people that a take part of a so called Christian organization that allows thousands of little boys to be sexually molested by priests. However your opinion is stated and I respect that. Again a club that holds their members accountable of their actions is a respectable club. If in the past members were wrongly chastised then I am sorry but Jason should not be treated the way he is by his so called TEAM MATES. I myself do not have all the facts in Jason’s case but what I do know is that anyone can be accused of anything and with the authorities twisting statements it may appear actually worse than it is. I feel if the dirt slingers sit back and refrain from bashing Jason this sport will be respected for that. Not to change the subject or soften the issue but I can remember some years back a highly respected pilot from our organization got caught up in drugs. He had major legal issues. Prior to his mistake he was hailed a great pilot and friend. After his mistake he was bashed and persecuted, now years later he is once again hailed as a great person. Now seeing that guy bash Jason really got to me. Again I value everyone’s opinion but all this pointing finger stuff is not good. However it is your opinion and thanks for sharing.

Mike it is obvious who your “Rock Star” is and I commend you for that. But the fact is he needs to man up as one would say and step back until this matter is behind him. We would not be in this rock throwing contest here if that had happened. Showing up at contests thinking everything is alright since that incident with the law does not help matters in my book. It certainly makes some people attending or wanting to attend uncomfortable until this has been resolved right or wrong. Tiger Woods has been mentioned and he even stepped back from the game for awhile to get his personal life in order. A little breathing room during this unfortunate time would go a long way for most people. Once this matter is behind him there will plenty of time for Hugs, High Fives, Fist Pumps, and Hand Holding on the contest trail I am sure of it.

Mike,
Until you started attacking everyone on this post I had similar views as you. I think flying model airplanes and having talent to do it great has nothing to do with whatever happened. As long as his involvement in the team does not endanger anyone there should be no issue. I know that what happened is very serious and unpleasant and if proven guilty is non-excusable . It is no one’s business what is happening in his privet life as long as there is no danger to other modelers. But then Mike comes out and starts stomping everyone’s opinions on the matter making him worse then the people who he is accusing of mudslinging . You are slinging the most mud man. This is a discussion board and everyone has the same right to think whatever they want.
