Thanks Chris,

I know they have an old timers pattern contest somewhere back East. Wouldn't it be great to get one started on the west coast. Most of us wouldn't care if we won or not But it would be fun. Probably would need wheel chair access for some of us Pilots though

You'd be surprised, Stan. I envision this Classic Pattern thing turning into a big deal. It'd be nice to see a western region event as big as the C/L VSC there at Silver Bell Park in Tucson. They get more entries than the Tucson Shootout for IMAC! Would love to you come over, any kind of model will do.

Does anyone make a copy of the Taurus? I had several and loved the way that plane flew. I can't seem to find anyone selling a kit.

Any help on this subject?

A nice reproduction kit...

And a 1/2amodel that is a true scaled kit of the actual Taurus kit...

Hi Stan,
Here's a place to get a Taurus kit. It's almost an exact replica, but renamed.

Hi Eric,
I looked it up after you noted it...Intl Stunt Champ, now that's an oldie! Old Plymouth Nats, my dad said he always wished he could go to one, or win the regionals and get picked up in the Plymouth DC-3 to be transported to the Nats site!

Howdy,
I have put forth a proposal to the PTB at my club regarding an informal get-together. I will post more info after I hear back from them.

I have met Joe Bridi in person, and I hold him in as high a regards, as our own George Aldrich.

I have received approval from the BOD at my club for the non-event. Now it is time to choose a date.

How does Saturday, May 21 work for you?

Please give me any feedback, I need to choose a a date, and update the BOD.

Stan,

You can still get a Dirty Birdy kit from Bluejay models too. I had the Bluejay kit for a while, but recently sold it. I'm still kicking myself in the A__ for doing it too.....[>:]

Hi David,

One thing about this hobby is that it is multi facetted. there are many different kinds of airplanes we can fly.

Years ago I flew all of these old timer's and really enjoyed them. But there are only so many things you can do in a day.

Almost two years ago I got into Turbines, and am completely involved with them. I feel guilty because I know I would enjoy flying a Dirty Birdy with a Rossi 60 again.

Thanks David,

Stan

As I am a Huge fan of Joe Bridi, and have never met him (but boy I'd love to), and was not in on the conversation referred, Would you please elaborate? Any info on Mr. Bridi would be met with Great enthusiasm!

The last tme i talked to Joe Bridi was about a year ago on the phone.
he was doing ok but cant fly models or drive a car anymore due to vision problems.
one of you guys from down there should get in touch with him and see if he would like to come out to the event ,
i'm sure he would enjoy it and so would everyone else.
he still lives in west carson
p.m. me if you would like to get in touch with him.

IT"S ON!!! Save the date- Saturday, May 21st!!!

The location is the Channel Islands Condors field, Camarillo, Ca. The field is open for electrics at 8:00 AM, and powered aircraft can start flying at 8:30 AM. AMA is required. Here is a link to the club website: http://www.cicondors.com/

I will post more info as it becomes available. Meanwhile, get those birds airworthy, and tell a buddy. Let's make some Classic Pattern happening again out here. It has been gone for far too long. Time to make it real.

Is there a RV park close by? Or can you camp at the field?

Thanks Rich

I'll be there if at all possible. Also, I am going to try to add some sort of Classic Pattern to our fall pattern contest in Lancaster. That's at the Tailwinds field, info at avti.org. The dates are October 1st and 2nd. Not sure what rules yet, but we will be flying some classic.

The club allows overnighters for the annual IMAC contest, I will check to see if we can swing it for this non-event.
