Default Miss Wind 50E - Glow conversion

Has anyone ever converted it to gas/glow or know of someonw that has? I know Sebart makes some glow conversion packs for some of his other planes.

Thanks.

Hello Rob

Friend of mine Jerome put a Yamada on his Wind 50 S (monoplane).
I saw the flights. Her flies very well.
I ask him to post some pictures.

Rob,

The Wind S 50 has provisions to be made glow, the Miss Wind does not. With no cowl and the nose being very thin, it would be very difficult. I'm also not sure the structure on the Miss Wind would hold up over time. Many of Seba's 50 size stuff is setup with a cowl and would be easy to convert, I don't believe the Miss Wind is one.

Just my .02

I converted the new 50 size sukhoi with an OS 55AX, flies very well and so far no problems with vibrations. I got that plane purposly as it's covered in Oracover so I wouldn't have any covering coming off with the oily exhaust. This plane was designed to be convertible though so keep that in mind.
Oh and one more thing, if you go ahead with this be sure to mount the engine first and do the servos last. My cg was miles off and needed some lead to bring it forward. If I'd known sooner I would have moved the rudder servo from the tail into the fuselage.

Yeah - I figured the cowl/firewall area would need some serious strenthening.

On all the other Seba planes they have a cowl setup, so that you can get to it and strenthen it, on the Miss Wind, it only has the top battery hatch. The nose is also very slim and would be tight to get a glow motor in there. It could be done, but not without a TON of work. The deal that F3A Unlimited has now, for 593, for the plane, motor, and ESC is hard to beat. Batteries are available at reasonable costs as well. Might be a great plane to enter the electric world with.

You can download the manual on Seba's site and you can look through it. There is not much wood in the nose with which to work,

Your right Arch - I really need to do the plane jusitce and go the electric route. Im slowly getting back into this after a 8-10yr break - so this 'electirc' stuff is somewhat new to me.

Rob,

Having flown the snot out of mine for the last 10 days, it really flies amazing. It doesn't have any of the weird tendencies you would see in a bipe with roll coupling and such. I have flown the FAI P and F schedules and the Masters sequence many times with no issues. This plane really flies well and goes together very quickly. Feel free to PM me with any questions and I'll help the best I can.

Here is the link. This is to the green one, if you go back to the sebart planes and scroll through you will see them listed. Sometimes the site is a little difficult to navigate.

http://www.f3aunlimited.com/webstore...roducts_id=223

It includes the Hacker A50-16S and Castle Ice 75 controller. The plane is designed around that hacker and is literally plug and play with it.

I believe right now Chris is out of the bipes, but he is hoping to get more in pretty quickly. Give him a call and I'm sure he can update the status,
