Pretty sweet!! How about the rear tire? Looks like it's kicked in a lil bit?

@masterhacker-Haha-hey it has rdlogics aluminum diff collars-hehe.

@Lil pepi-In those pics it doesn't have turnbuckles installed yet so the wheels just flopped around. It does have the traxxas black turnbuckles on it now though (need to take pics still).

@Mclovin350z-That's a stock 3903/3908 chassis dyed black with rit dye. All gray chassis parts were dyed black. I also de-anodized the blue motor plate/antenna mounts. I'm trying to keep the shiny bits and blue bits down to a minimum. I'm going for an all black theme as you can see (the wheels/tires were pulled off another truck) So I'll use those until I get some 17mm hex wheels.

As for aluminum parts-I plan to keep those to a minimum to keep the weight down. I know the stock plastic bulks wont last long so those will prob be the only aluminum parts that make it onto this ride (besides the diff collars).

Well of course only put aluminum where ya need it. Ive been keeping my eye out for a Emaxx, I would like to pick up a roller, or a blowed up one, but the ones Ive come across have the mother loving crap beat out of them. The other day I came a cross a savage roller on craigslist for $75, the damn thing was beat to hell, scratched to hell, the diffs were F**ked, drive cups were worn down to nothing, it had broken off screws in it, and anything that could possibly have rusted was

Thanks Stampedvxl, You use heavy duty oven cleaner (spray can) usually comes in a yellow can (in my area). You can get it at almost any supermarket/walwart/kmart, Dollar stores are the best bet b/c it's usually like $1 a can. Just spray it on the parts (I use a non-coated metal can like a coffee can) and let it sit for like 10 min or so then check it and most of it should be off-if not just spray more on. You might need a soft metal brush to get stubborn areas clean. It might leave a brown looking coating on the parts-just brush it off w/ the metal brush and once all the anodizing is gone just wash it off with water and let it dry.

You can also use the oven cleaner to de-chrome the stock rims-same process as above but use an old toothbrush/plastic bristle brush (metal brush will scratch the plastic). Spray it on the rims-let um sit then get to tough spots w/ a plastic based bristle brush. I would remove the tires first by boiling or baking the tires off. Don't use the acetone method on stock traxxas tires-they'll melt and the rims might to. After all that just wash um off with water and let um dry.

The shocks are off a losi 8ight 2.0 RTR buggy (rears all around for an E-Maxx and cost about $30-$35 for 2 off ebay). The silver/black springs in my pics are to soft so I had to get stiffer purple (4.3 rate) springs for the rear and gray (4.0 rate) for the front. I also had to open up the holes in the upper RPM arms where the shocks go through b/c the springs rubbed and made them crooked-nothing a dremel can't fix (you will void the RPM warranty though once you cut/grind on a RPM arm). You'll also need some 4mm screws and the little spacer thingies for the upper mount hole. I also had to open up the screw holes on the shock tower-I just used a body reamer. Other then that they pretty much bolt on. The pro version shocks are the same but they have metal caps and TiN shafts-the parts are interchangeable between both shocks though. As for how good they work I can't answer yet b/c I have yet to run the truck but these shocks are well known to be one tough cookie and very smooth (alotta ppl use them on short course trucks). They look like monsters compared to the stock maxx shocks. Hope this helped ya.

I don't know what I want to do with my shocks yet, But I would love those lst2 shocks, The associated pnes work fairly well, but I would like something bigger/better

If the lst2 shocks are bigger in diameter then the losi 8ight's your gonna have major rubbing issues on the upper a-arms and the lower spring cups will hit the driveshafts (the 8ight's rub a tad on the shafts). Aren't savage shocks way to long compared to the maxx shocks? If I break a shock tower (which is pretty much a given that I will) then I'm gonna most likely order FLM towers since I already have the shock standoffs for the losi 8ight's but didn't need them for the stock towers.

@ Stampedvxl-Before you dye your chassis make sure you get it as clean as possible b/c the dye won't make it through any oils/grease on the chassis. I started off with a brand new chassis and still cleaned it with simple green just to make sure there wasn't any grease on it. I'm very happy with the results of how it turned out-no splotches at all and the color is very even. I dyed the chassis by itself and did the bulks/skids/gear cover/lower skid plate seperately. I bought 3 packs of black powder rit dye and used 1 1/2 on the chassis and the other 1 1/2 packages on the other parts and I let them sit for a good hour before I took them out. I heated the water until it just started to boil then dumped the water in one of those dollar store aluminum turkey pan things then mixed the dye and stirred it the dropped in the chassis then covered it with alum foil to keep the heat in. I stirred up the water/dye every 20 min's or so and moved the chassis/parts around in there so the color went in evenly. I pulled them out and let them dry and noticed some staining of a light brown color where the water dryed so I cleaned them with a sponge and dish soap and after that is the results in the pics. Also-wear rubber gloves and some clothes ya don't mind getting dirty and cover up anything you don't want dyed.

They are really sick looking-I really want them to but I'll have to save up for them. I'm sure there well worth the dough but $120 for the front/rears is quite a bit.

Buy a front, then a rear at some point, they are the best investment into my Tmaxx Ive ever made, they are worth every penny, I smacked into a pole going full speed, it bounced off the pole, and stripped a spur gear, it left a big indent in the hole that I smacked into, other than that, no damage, Like I said, if you only buy one, get a front first as they take the most abuse (at least mine do)

That is a good idea, Those are 3.2" wheels w/ 14mm hex but I want some 3.8"s with 17mm hex's b/c I don't wanna strip them out w/ the power thats gonna be unleashed on them.

good idea just make shure you turn your tires inside out wrap them with duct tape so your truck stays planted on the ground with all that power. their is sombody on you tube that says that around 55 to 60mph his tires baloon out so much his front end becomes slighty air born. when you wrap your tires it gives you more stability.

Hey all, Got the transmission/center cvd shafts/motor/esc/steering servos all installed and wired up. Ended up using my spare 2075 traxxas servos from my slash's so I could drive it. Still have to mess with camber/toe/suspension and all that other good stuff. The esc is still all default settings b/c I'm still waiting for my program card from hobbyking (been almost 2 months). Still waiting for a 19T pinion so it's way under geared at 14/68 right now. I also still have to make a series connector for it so I hooked up a gens ace 3s 5000mah 40c pack to run it and listen for any wierd noises which they were none so just gotta get all the loose ends tied up and then I hope to have a vid up soon. Ordered the JConcepts Ford raptor p/u body for the revo 3.3, Stay tuned and enjoy the pics.
