Default 2nd Build,new step hull

This is the start of my second airboat. My first boat was a flat bottom boat built from blue styrofoam and coated with fiberglass cloth and epoxy resin. The boat ran great but I was looking for something more stable in the turns so a larger boat is being built. This boat is being constructed of 1/8" birch plwood with a stepped bottom and a dropped rear deck area with both width and length being greater than the first boat. The first picture is of the original boat with the rest being the new boat

The red air boat dimensions, if you don't mind. That is a beautiful boat!!! The only thing i spot is transom heavy. The RED would be a good canidate for electric outrunner like a Balsa 2810-9 motor as a puller. I have several homemade airboats on electric power as gas on ponds here are outlawed ( noise ). The RED is smooth looking and sharp looking. Mine aren't lookers but are functionable and i have FUN!!!

The dimensions of the red boat are approximately 41"x23" with the bottom being 17" wide. The new boat is approximately 44"x 25" with the bottom being 21" wide.

Here are some more pictures of the boat hull.Final paint and assembly will begin this weekend.Looking forward to test running the new boat in the next week or two. Thanks to everyone on this forum for the different ideas and designs in each threadThe general looks of the boat came from pictures on Cajun Gators web site with the cage and engine stand coming from Mudmasher Airboats.

Shame on if you put it in the water. W O W ! I wish i could build like that. Mine are basic airboats but are functional.
