I have bought batteries from these guys a few times. I have stuck up for them when people thought shipping was taking too long. Now I have to eat crow!

I ordered about $350 in batteries from them the middle of last month. I knew one was on back order. I paid with paypal, who is supposed to protect your purchase. They sent me a note on April 7th that they shipped, but the website still says that my batteries are reserved, not shipped. I still don't have them. I wrote a note to them and they say it will take them 2 MONTHS to review it and see what they can do. 2 MONTHS! That is totally assinine. What are they thinking? If I would have wanted them in 2 months, I would have waited to order.

Then to top it off, I filed the claim to get the money back on paypal, and they said they don't protect the sale unless it is purchased on ebay. So, I hope they get it fixed, but I am really ticked that I have to wait as long as they say for it to get fixed. What a pain.

They have good priced, but with customer service like that, they won't be around long.

Not only that, but their batteries seem to be notorious for having one of the cells go belly up.

I really would like to agree with you, but I tend to find that a lot of people are suckers, and will keep going to them anyway.

I echo that.... beware of H.K. and keep "paypal" on a short-leash as well.

The PayPal claim of protection is one of the larger pieces of crapola I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I bought a kit from the bay, paid via PayPal, never saw the kit, filed a claim with PayPal, won my dispute with PayPal, never saw a dime. They will only refund your money if there is ever any money that goes through the bad persons account ever again. It still adds up to buyer beware. Dave

If you send US postal money orders for epay items, then you can file a fraud claim with the postal inspectors, who are very serious people. I filed a fraud claim about cheap item with a paltry $10 total that the seller never shipped. I was somewhat suspicious about the seller and used a postal money order.

Some months later I got a nasty letter from the seller complaining about how I sic'd the feds on him over a trivial amount, but I got my $10 back in that same letter.

When the full weight and power of epay/paypal land on someone, they laugh. When the full weight and power of the feds land on someone, it catches their attention.

This thread should have a sticky!  [:-]

I have been burned twice by PP also. If there are alternatives, I use them!

Have had too many pals get burned by HK, steppin over a dollar to save a dime IMO.  The Yugo of the hobby industry.

Man sorry you got burned. I hope they get this worked out for ya.

"I knew one was on back order." Now you should know better than this.

Never back order stuff from Hobby King. They wont send any of your order until the back order comes in witch could take a year and when they do come in HK has a bad habit of not shipping your back ordered product even then. You'll get an email that stock has arrived, then you will see +10 in stock on line. A few days later it's 4 in stock, then -3 in stock, onto B and in that week they where in stock they never shipped your backordered product or the rest of your order and now some other items your ordered are on back order as well even though you see "Reserved".

Also don't order lipos with other items. Lipos take extra long to ship. I just got a lipo in last week that I ordered in February. Thing sat in Switzerland for a month. The order was 4 lipos. One is DOA "it's a 3S and the voltage keeps going from 11.3v 3.8-3.7-3.8 to 11.3v 0.0-7.5-3.8 so there must be a short in the pack or connector. I'm going to try another balance connector but this battery probably will not be trusted in my heli. However even with one out of the four batteries dead I still saved $100 and "$100 saved is a $100 earned" LOL

You know, I know nothing more about HK than I read online, and what I learned from the video about the Australian owner... But I have wondered a LONG time if eventually someone in China would just take the business away from him... They are ruthless, Cutting him out would be pretty easy to do I would think.. I read just the other day where everyone at a factory over there showed up for work, the equipment had been stolen and moved and basically a pirate had setup his own business somewhere else...

Man, power is here. Just had to whine to you guys and they came through with batteries. Took almost a month longer to get them than they said it would but at least they came. Still can't believe paypal can claim protection where there is none! I use them, but will never hope for a claim with them. Suckers.

LOL @ Tommygun

Foodstick, also like the time Sig contracted with a company to have their ARF Kadets built then the things where selling on ebay before Sig got their shipment. What kind of communism are they teaching the Chinese kids over there? Capitalism is running rampant!

Flyboy I'm glad you got your batteries in finally!

Sorry to hear about your troubles,
I have bought a few items from HK even though I knew the shipping meant a long wait.
Although no retailer is perfect I have had good results with hobbypartz.

 http://www.hobbypartz.com/

I always recieved my stuff within seven days and was given
tracking info within a day after I placed the order.

Their prices are VERY competitive with HK, especially batteries, and they ship from City of Industry, Ca.

Happy flying, Oscar

Bob
I've been using the SKYLIPO 1000 mAh 3S 30C on a slow stick with a 400 size brushless motor.

Purchased four of them about six months ago and still no issues.

ha, that's a good one. Like you said cutaway, PayPal & E-Pay don't have much effect. They don't have the IRS in the background. Glad ya got the deal worked out.

I too have good experiences with Hobby Partz. HK does take along time to ship there stuff, I waited almost three months for one part but then you cant really complain because you buy everything dirt cheap.

PayPal is a pain.
