just a heads up, there's a new track in winsted ct (northwest ct).

it's behind a shopping mall. here's a link to the hobby shops website http://www.*********andmore.com/Default.aspx

it's 1/10 off road, and they are building a 1/5 off road track too.

really cool people, laid back atmosphere.

most people are running sc trucks but there are a few buggies.

i want to see more buggies.

this past saturday was my first time racing there (and my first time raciing in 17 years lol) and we all had an awesome time.

i got lumped inot sportsman class due to being a buggy, the class was hilarious:

brushless emaxx
vxl pede
vxl rustler
vxl bandit
t4
and my b4.

so anyone looking for some excellent off road action in the ct area you need to hit up rc hobbies and more!
they run on saturdays, racing starts @ 2pm.

if my wife didn't steal my camrea i'd have some pics. i'll get some next time.

bumping this for the start of the 2011 outdoor offroad season.

the track is fresh, new clay laid down. ready to go april 23rd. racing starts @ noon.

I plan on checking out the track sometime soon. Since Iam getting back into the hobby and running a vintage Traxxas Bandit, the sportsman class is probably the right class for me.

Life Star Helicopter is scheduled to land in our flying field around noon (provided that their services are not required elsewhere) for all the folks to check out.
A few of the local fire departments will be stopping by as well for all the youngsters to oogle. They'll also be doing fingerprints and carseat checks for kids.

Personal Transponders are required for all classes except Sportsman. AMB 20 system will be used for Sportsman. All other classes will be run on the new Mylaps RC4 system. AMBRC, MRT and Mylaps transponders will all work.

The plaza up here has all the amenities any racer could want or need. Pharmacy, three different restaurants, Stop&Shop, Ledgebrook Spirit Shop and even a nice jewelery store for all the prospectively angry wives.

we are having a trophy race saturday july 14th.

life star helicopter will be landing and possibly a blackhawk too.
3d heli pilots will be there putting on a show as well.

we are also putting in a 1/10-1/18 dirt oval in the infield of our 1/5 tri oval. currently under construction.

this coming saturday is a 1/5 club race.
