Default Tamiya Panzer IV $399

http://www.awesomehobbies.com.au/sho...iya-tanks.html

Do my eyes deceive me?
Is this too good to be true?

Has anyone purchased from this shop before?

Too good to pass up me thinks.

Add to cart and you can get the estimate for shipping. Shipping to my neck of the woods (Pacific Northwest) was:

Australia Post Sea Mail (65 days) $90.05
Australia Post Air Mail (10 days) $135.00
Australia Post Express Post International (6 days) $140.50

Good find!! Kudos for posting it.

There seems to be a problem with their Paypal account - I was unable to complete the purchase because the seller cannot receive money at this time.

The question should be why are they so high in price to begin with ? Probably because they can sell them for the higher prices.  I love the little Panzers but I think they are over priced when compared to other Tamiya kits.

Its not just the Pz 4 but a drastic price drop on their entire range of Tamiya kits which caught my interest. [:-]

Either they are closing out the line or plan to become the undisputed low price leader worldwide.

Has anyone heard of difficulties of our dealers being resupplied by Tamiya. It's Factory is in the northen part of the country not in Tokyo as you might think. I believe we may have a shortage of parts and kits in the futer. This is PURELY my OPINION. I have no proof , but it seems logical it could affect their abillity to export product.

Nope, no problems with Tamiya's production due to what's happened recently in Japan. I know someone who was recently at their HQ & all is well. Besides, much of their product line is produced is outside of Japan.

Does anyone know if this company is genuine or not - most of the links dont work! Has anyone successfully bought a tank from them recently?

I purchased the Panzer IV yesterday after emailing with Liz in the sales department. I went with the 6 day shipping, so if it shipped today as Liz promised, I should have it by the end of next week/early the week after. I asked Liz about the awesome price and she said they got a great deal on some stock, so they are passing the deal onto their customers.

I'll update the thread when I have more info and when it arrives.

I have been told it has been shipped (I choose the 6 day delivery), but it has not arrived yet. I did not receive any tracking information, so tomorrow it should arrive by business day count fvrom it being shipped.

I have requested Liz from Sales provide an update.  My account shows the order as complete and shipped, but as I mentioned, no tracking number was received so I could check on it myself.

Last night I received a tracking number, which seems valid to the Australia Post, but has no activity on it. While trying not to be cynical, it seems there is a definite problem in following through after the purchase. I was told the tank would ship the next day (5/6) and I would receive a tracking number 1 day later. I did not receive a shipping confirmation until 5/10 and only received a tracking number yesterday after requesting it.

The website does say that some large items are sent directly from their agents in the Far East. Given I selected 6 day delivery and the order was shipped on 5/10 - I suspect this order is either lost or there is something foul afoot. I paid with MasterCard as the Awesome Hobby Paypal account was unavailable, so it looks like my next step is to file a fraud report with MC and see where it goes.

Bummer... it seems you are right, too good to be true.

Wasn't Awesome Hobbies the company producing the over-rusted tanks that a kid posted about on here, and then complained about how long shipping took, and then got steamed when people slagged the over-the-top weathering job, and his impatience with those ungrateful Aussie's holding up his tank cause things were a little damp? At the time, parts of Australia were under water from flooding, but maybe Awesome is just plain slow, period. They seemed legit at the time.

Although I have not personally dealt with "Awsome Hobbies" based on reports on this forum and another that I frequent (RCTankHQ Panzer forum)they do not seem to be the model of reliability. Last month there was mention of there website being hacked/attacked.A portion of the response from the proprietor Warwick Vincent is below

"Hi Website was rebooted and is totally tested and functional including the [email protected] also the [email protected] "

I would try these two emails if you have not already
