Hi Guys,
Here's a bit of useful info for the float flyers in the forum
Check out my video Propsnappers fall float fly for a great vid. It is the 85 inch span, hanger 9 1/4 scale floats. the step of the floats needs to be about a half inch behind the C.G. I also fly a KMP Beaver.

Thanks propsnappers....

When you fly the KMP BEAVER do you use the flaps on take off? Also I could use some data on the throws of the ailerons, stab, and rudder. Also how much down elev with flaps?
Thanks
Wayne
Thanks

Hi Sailmaker,
You may have to leave a comment on propsnapper's youtube account as I don't think he subscribes to this forum, I found the vid on youtube and asked him a few questions, he seems like a typical modeller - very helpful and approachable.

Anyone else got the OS 200 in theirs? What prop are you running? And what are you doing for a spinner. I have an 18x8 prop and that doesn't really work with a 2 1/2 inch spinner

Hi,
Here's the final product, It has a 'Bad Girl' sticker each side of the tail, a boxing kangaroo on the nose, the rego number VH-TCT stolen off a full size cessna 172, and the nav lights finally, from the supermarket - led reading lights modified, plus the painting of the interior, door access, inside of the cowl, plus cutting tha air slots, and the baffle to redirect the cooling air. I think its' starting to look pretty good.....Even if I do say so myself...lol...

I see that Horizon is coming out with a Bind/Fly version of the Taylorcraft. Does anyone know if the Bind/Fly and the ARF are the same airframe or are there differences?

Well, it's the same airframe, but the bind and fly has the engine, fuel tank, servos. receiver and battery included in the price and already installed. So all you do is bind the receiver to your transmitter, charge the flite pac and ignition batteries, and go fly it. Hence the increase in price over just the airframe.
And this is one great airplane.

Yea, Horizon verified that it is the same airframe. No ignition batteries as they went with the magneto version of the 26.

No FPV, we just quickly mounted Neil's GoPro with velco onto the front cockpit/wing former as a trial. Good to see the Saito didn't vibrate the picture too much and the sound was still good too.
Got yours honking around after the engine trouble? Hopefully off tomorrow for another go... weather is great today so here's hopin ( earthquakes can bugger off too )
Chow for now

Flew my taylorcraft today with the 160 twin OS on the nose - It flew very scale - not like a sports plane - can;t beat the noise this engine gives off - shes a keeper
will fly with the throttle at three clicks - nice slow airplane if you wish to fly it that slow

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft
Hi All,
I just pulled out my Zenoah G20ei powered H9 Taylorcraft for it's 2nd season of flying. I really like this bird, but I've never been completely satisfied with it's flying qualities. It appears that the plane wants to fly in a nose-high attitude, while seeming to "wallow" around the sky. It's not horrible, but compared to my H9 1/4 scale Cub (which flies like a dream), it's a bit of a dog.
The CG on this bird is right on the wing tube, which I believe is the recommended location.
So, how does the Taylorcaft fly compared to a Cub, and are my observations about the Taylorcraft unusual?
Thanks,
John

I am on my 3rd season with my T'craft powered by an OS 160 twin and mine flies absolutely gorgeous. I can fly it scale or hot dog within reason with no nose high tendencies; balance is 1/8 behind recommended, Xoar 18x6 prop, 8000 rpm and it is fun.

agree with skippy this plane flys tail up with a 160 twin and the sound can't be beat (without a radial)
