Default Take the Tank Quiz on Military Channel site

For fun, go to the Military Channel website and take the quiz on the T34. I got only five of the questions right so post (HONESTLY!!) how you did in the quiz!

I took the B17 and Stealth quizs too and did pretty good but don't remember my scores on them...

I was checking if the Greatest Tank Battles DVDs were available yet (they're not) and found this quiz. I'll check there occasionally and when they list a quiz for other tanks I'll let you know.

OHHH! And I have to admit, of the five I got right, two were SWAGs!!! My limited knowledge of the T34s has come from the Military/Discovery/History Channels shows and some reading in WWII history magazines....

I totally flubbed the T34 quiz, only got 4 right. Here are my scores from some of the other quizes.

Subs, 8 for 10, Pacific 7 for 10, Europe 10 for 11, Tanks 10 for 10, B17 6 for 8, Mil Hist 7 for 12, Korea 7 for 10. I may never get off the computer.

Problem is I can cheat on the test. I got this 500 page book on the T 34, complete right down to plate angles etc, production, losses both combat and accident, and so forth. It's in Russian, but I seem to have an in house translator floating around.

I don't usually indulge these things because I usually approach the subject in one of two ways: I know what I need to
know to do what I need doing or I will learn what I need. I never intend to be a walking tank encyclopaedia. People that are make me sad...for them.

However I decided to give it a try. I received 7 of 8. the 2nd question can't be answered correctly, they have a problem with the quiz - "the t-34 couldn't be matched for firepower and raw tonnage" - there's no way I would have flubbed that one. I took the test twice, answering both true / false and both times it was marked incorrect.

The other 'general' tank quiz could have been answered with a perfect score by my lady friend who doesn't speak tank but hears me...

Tavarich,

I'm reliably informed by 1980's era Soviet defectors that if you put the book under your chin facing away from you, it can easily be read refecting off a mirror. [:-]

Hmmm. According to a friend of mine at Derzinsky 2, there were no defectors from former SSSR. Everyone was more than happy in the Workers Paradise.
Tried the mirror trick, and while it didn't improve my Russian reading abilities, it did indeed help my reading and comprehension of English.
